Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology’s Post

On March 7, 1883, classes began at the Rose Polytechnic Institute (now Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology). The college was formed to train future engineers through a combination of theoretical and practical work. Now look at us... in 2024, we’re one of the nation’s top undergraduate STEM colleges, The Wall Street Journal ranked us No. 17 Best Colleges in America, and U.S. News & World Report College Guide named us No. 1 Undergraduate Engineering Program for the 25th consecutive year 🎉 Learn more about our history at https://bit.ly/3wnPTxU Image: Old black and white photo of students posing with their goat mascot, courtesy of the Indiana State Library. #RoseHulman

Its amazing that we managed to look just as nerdy back in 1883. Glad to see nothing has changed. 😂

Congratulations Rose! I love this post showing the history and how Rose-Hulman has changed over the years. As a parent of a young woman who is a senior this year, I am so incredibly grateful that RHIT now is a place where females are now welcome. RHIT has literally changed the trajectory of my daughter’s life!! Her future is very bright due to the opportunities and the world class education she has received at Rose. We couldn’t be more grateful that RHIT (we had never heard of Rose and are from NY) found her!! She’s worked incredibly hard, but the rewards have been falling in place since freshman year mid-pandemic! 3 amazing internships, great memories and many friends later, she accepted a wonderful full time job offer last summer that she’ll start full time after graduation and she has continued to work part time for the company during her senior year.

GOAT engineer - “Greatest of All Time”. Great picture

As an EE student in '63-'65, I had fond memories of Rosie getting pushed around the track during football games. I realized too late that I should be a ME instead.

This is so cool, awesome legacy. I thought I was old school as one of first classes that required laptops. Love it.
