https://lnkd.in/e-ZbKAR5 The British Egg Industry Council has launched a manifesto ahead of the general election, calling on future government to help deliver the support the British egg industry needs for a sustainable future. The BEIC’s key manifesto asks are organised in six key themes: international trade, environment, workforce, biosecurity, planning and public procurement. The industry body is calling on future government to ban the import of eggs and egg products from systems of production that are prohibited in the UK, and to recognise in future trade deals the higher costs of production UK producers face due to higher standards, and provide appropriate protection.

Expect strong #dairy replacement #heifers for at least the next 2 to 3 years as beef semen on dairy cows continue to pay quick dividends for dairy producers with calves selling for $800 to at times over $1,000 each. Recent #export orders for short bred dairy heifers have pushed into $2,600 territory. These are historic highs. In the U.S., young 2-year olds dairy cows have ranged from $2,800 to well over the $3,000 range based on quality. https://lnkd.in/gp75rqne

Ministers MacAulay and Ng released a joint statement addressing the final rule on "Product of USA" labeling regulations for meat, poultry, and egg products by the United States. "We value the close collaboration between Canada and the U.S. in the meat and livestock sectors, ensuring food security and supporting local food systems," they said. Expressing concern about potential disruptions to the integrated North American supply chains, they emphasized the need for solutions that benefit both countries. Ministers MacAulay and Ng stated they were disappointed with the final rule's apparent oversight of their concerns. Canada plans to address this issue in the upcoming trilateral meeting with the U.S. and Mexico. The statement concludes with a commitment to carefully review the rule's impacts and implementation to safeguard Canada's meat sector's access to the U.S. market. 🌎 https://lnkd.in/g2g-4hir Stay informed about trade discussions – follow us on all our platforms!
