I started watching the series, #SiliconValley and I like how the screenplay is deliberate about pointing out and teaching important business lessons. I'll be sharing some of them here. 1. When Richard got the funding for his company, Pied Piper, he was instructed by his investor to trim the weight- which simply meant to dispose of any team member that was not contributing anything indispensable to the team. 'Big Head' took the hit. Big head was called a light-weight on everything. He could do what everyone could do, but could not do it as good as the person who measured in it. Because of this, he didn't bring anything to the table to make him deserving of equity. Everyone in the room was the best in their respective field except him. He had no field where he was exceptional in. He was trimmed off the team. Lesson: In business and the workplace, Mastery is important. Knowing how to do a lot of things is great and helpful, but you still need a niche, your own little place where you are king. Such that, when it comes to this aspect, you are the best there is. Spend more of your time and resources in mastering this particular aspect you have found, and let all the other things be the spare additions. #Business #Workplace #Siliconvalley

Sometimes you just need to pivot faster than Lebron's 3 step layups. This week I've realized where my customers definitely DON'T live. Just because you build a relationship with the owners of a community that has 104K people in it, does not mean you're going to strike gold. It sounded nice until it no longer was. Keys to pivoting: 1. Take the emotion out of your decision 2. Have a plan to fill the gap, if the pivot creates one 3. Don't let it linger! Pivot meaningfully and pivot fast 4. Communicate the pivot before, during, and after 5. Don't lift your pivot foot (for all the LBJ fans out there 😎 )

Time to stop spectating and get stuck in. My first LinkedIn post… Nine months ago I left my job to build Wittle. Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time coding, but also speaking to over 300 estate agents and consumers to get invaluable feedback on the product, and hearing first-hand the issues they’re facing. This journey has reinforced my belief that the property search market is broken. There’s a demand for a product that: - helps people find properties in areas that are suited to their lifestyle, and  - gives agents the tools to foster better conversations with buyers.
