Challenges are everywhere on college campuses. One of the biggest is trust with your audience—without it none of the others matter. Reimagine your strategy and rebuild trust by centering it on your audience. Social listening research gives you visibility into and insight from online conversation. We've studied online conversation about higher education since 2017. Campuses use our expertise to reframe their strategy and become more agile. We’ve identified three key needs. 1. Restore trust with a collaborative audience-centric strategy. 2. Align key campus goals using relevant data. 3. Reclaim influence to maintain competitiveness and sustainability. Our experts help you use data, insights, and strategy to meet these needs and impact your institutional outcomes. The IDP Connect UK & Ireland Insight Day continues and the Hybrid team just attended the insightful student panel discussion. Here you can see our Director of Technology Matthew Crisp jumping on the mic to ask students what they want from a website experience! The panel focused on factors influencing university choices and the experiences of current students. Some key takeaways for our UK university partners -- - Sources of information like university websites, open days, and talking to current students are the most influential. Marketing should engage prospective students where they are online, through social media. - Location, student life, costs, and practical experiences after graduation impact student decisions. University value depends on experiences gained, but debt levels and job prospects after graduating influence views. - Student voices authentically sharing experiences, both positive and negative, help prospective students understand university life realities. Open days led by students provide unique insights beyond academics. Another session of great insights from a great student panel! #Insightday2024

President at Fairleigh Dickinson University | Evolving the Higher Education Landscape | Innovator, Visionary and Transformational Leader | Reinventing Education for Tomorrow’s Needs | Husband | Father | Avid Runner
You've heard me say it before… higher education is stuck in the past. It's operating the same way for decades, maybe even centuries. I look around and see an industry in desperate need of reinvention. The current business model needs to be fixed - it needs to be built to truly serve the needs of today's learners and tomorrow's workforce. That said, all of the challenges provide us with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to move away from the status quo, questioning every assumption about how universities should operate, who they should serve, and what the ultimate endgame is. It starts with prioritizing students' interests, success, and upward mobility. From there, we're building new partnerships, creating specialized programs, and finding creative ways to deliver more considerable impacts with better economics. If higher education doesn't evolve, it will be left behind, which ultimately means our students and those we trust to change the world will be left behind and unable to adapt. As we prepare to celebrate a new class of students graduating to chart the path for our future, I am reminded all the more that students need us, and we need to be here to support them. How should we reshape higher education to ensure we are ready for the future?

Nothing will change until we change the financial structure of higher education. The burden of financing should be shifted to the student and the learning institution. Student need to become more selective in their choice of field and institutions vested in their students careers. Step one, remove federal loan guaranties. Step two make institutions cosigners or loan originators.
