Once upon a time in the bustling city of Progresso, there was a company known for its innovative spirit and market leadership. The employees worked diligently, and among them was Elena, a dedicated operations manager whose strategies had saved the company millions. Despite her achievements, Elena’s efforts went unrecognized. Promotions and accolades seemed to pass her by, always landing in the hands of her colleague, Mark, who was adept at taking credit for the work of others. Elena’s team felt the sting of injustice, as their hard work was overshadowed by Mark’s self-promotion. One day, the CEO announced a new project that would be the most challenging yet. Elena and her team poured their hearts into the work, achieving remarkable results. However, during the annual gala, Mark once again stepped into the spotlight, claiming their success as his own. The team was disheartened, and morale plummeted. Elena, seeing the unfairness, decided to take a stand. She gathered evidence of her team’s contributions and requested a private meeting with the CEO. In the meeting, Elena presented her case with grace and conviction. The CEO listened intently, surprised and concerned about the oversight. Moved by Elena’s passion and the clear evidence of her team’s achievements, the CEO took immediate action. Mark’s deceit was exposed, and he was reprimanded. Elena and her team were publicly acknowledged for their outstanding work, receiving the recognition and rewards they truly deserved. The company implemented a new system to ensure fair recognition of achievements, fostering a culture of transparency and justice. Elena’s courage not only brought fairness to her team but also inspired a wave of positive change throughout the company. Progresso thrived like never before, all thanks to the unassuming heroism of an operations manager who believed in fairness for all. And so, the story of Elena and her team became a legend within the company, a reminder that recognition should always be fair and based on true merit. This story is a work of fiction, but it highlights the importance of recognizing and rewarding employees fairly for their contributions. It serves as a reminder that every member of a team plays a vital role in the success of an organization.

Against a backdrop of change how do organisations protect their culture? Well this was the question put to a table of 15 CPO’s at last weeks Thursdays Futurist CPO Roundtable which Dayforce were the proud sponsors of, and with great contributions from around the table discussing how companies enhance, build or break aspects of culture I’d like to thank you all. Last but not least thanks 🙏 to our VP of Enterprise Delivery Mark Corden who was able to share his lived experiences of culture as being an outcome delivered through organisation Purpose, Vision and the application of its Values! Some of the nights key takeaways… 1️⃣ Organisations of different sizes and maturity have different immediate priorities. 2️⃣ Culture is seen as an important foundation for organisations, but there is no single right strategy or approach. 3️⃣ Authenticity of culture is really important, even if that means some potential new hires don’t resonate towards it. Thank you to our friends at the #Futurist! #makesworklifebetter
🤩 What an incredible evening! 🤩 Last night we had the absolute pleasure of hosting 15 incredible People leaders at our roundtable event at the Brasserie of Light. ⚡ Despite the miserable weather, it's safe to say the atmosphere in the room was electric. The chosen topic of discussion was 'Protecting Culture: Enhance, Break or Build?', there were so many thought-provoking contributions - we'll be sharing some of the key insights later on! 🙌 A big shout-out to Saqi Sheikh, Chartered FCIPD, who did a fantastic job at chairing the conversation so seamlessly. A thank you also goes to Dayforce who sponsored the event, represented by the brilliant Mark Corden who had some interesting insights to share. 🎉 Lastly, of course, a huge thank you to our members who attended - it was such a great group of people and we really hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. At CIFT, we strive to live up to our values every day. To help, we introduced a board at our main office where we share examples of our values in action, both personally and by highlighting the efforts of others. This initiative motivates us to live up to our values and reinforces them in our daily interactions. Our current focus is on the value of "getting the job done." This commitment means following through on our promises, prioritizing actions that lead to results, and taking responsibility for our work. We believe in accountability, avoiding the blame game, and listening to our clients and each other to drive collaboration and success. Collaborative is the first of five core values at BESydney...We win as a team, sharing our expertise and ideas as we work towards a common vision. By embracing diverse thinking, we arrive at new, surprising insights and genuinely game-changing solutions. We collaborate across business, academia and industry to bring the most important global conversations to Sydney. So when Chief Executive Women (CEW) made it the theme for their annual gala dinner last night, it was a perfect opportunity to catch up with a few of our incredibly connected and collaborative network. Thank you for joining us Professor Mary O'Kane AC; Gabrielle Trainor AO; Michael Rose AM; Marlene Kanga AO FTSE FREng FAICD; Judith Crompton; Ann Sherry AO; Phillipa H.; and Joseph Carrozzi AM. We missed you Richard Alcock AO. Congratulations to the CEW for their tireless work accelerating women’s economic participation and leadership. The call this year is for leaders across the community to set gender targets, invest in a gender balanced talent pipeline, and build inclusive, flexible, and respectful workplaces for everyone. And in since you're asking. Here's the other four values we live by at BESydney: Authentic: We’re straight talkers who follow our words through with clear, transparent action. Open in our responses as well as to feedback, we use respectful honesty to build integrity with each other, and our clients. Bold : We think like entrepreneurs: approaching challenges as opportunity. When a risk’s worth taking, we’re not ones to shy away – and use savvy thinking to sharpen our competitive edge. Passionate: We do the important things well. Not only by sweating the small stuff - but standing by what we believe in. Staying resilient. And supporting each other every step of the way. Curious: Each day is as an opportunity to discover something new. By building our knowledge, we equip ourselves to make better decisions and strengthen our reputation as trusted advisors.
