Years later, Ria stumbled upon her childhood photos scattered across the internet. This discovery led to an important conversation between her and Karma: Ria: "Dad, why are my baby pictures all over the internet?" Karma: "I shared them when you were born. 🎉 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘀! 🎉 I believe in celebrating wins- big and small. Typically, on the first day of the month I share 4 business-related wins from the prior month. I’m going to do it a little differently this month. This month I'm going to focus on one win: the launch of 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲™ Greeting Card Subscription Program! This launch is a big deal to me as it brings together multiple things that I care about and multiple parts of my mission. There are also some sentimental aspects to it. So, instead of listing 4 different wins, I'm going to share 4 reasons this win means so much to me. 1️⃣ 𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀. I always have. Stacey M Design started off as a greeting card company. I’ve always maintained greeting cards in my product line. I have fond memories of getting my first greeting card professionally printed. I also have memories of displaying them at the National Stationery Show and of my cards being sold by retailers such as Target, Nordstrom, and Marshall Fields. 2️⃣ 𝗜 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. I’ve had different ones over the years. When I was a kid I had a subscription for monthly Nancy Drew books. Who remembers Columbia House CD clubs? 😄 I first toyed with the idea of offering a greeting card subscription service over 15 years ago, but never moved forward. A few weeks ago the idea popped into my mind again. This time it coalesced around my approach to self-awareness and social awareness. It was clear that the time was now. 3️⃣ 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀. My focus is helping kids, but I’ve maintained that my message is universal. With 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲™ I speak directly to adults. The 4 cards for others make it easy for subscribers to send messages of support and celebration to other adults. The 1 card for self is a reminder to take care of oneself. The more emotionally well we as adults are, the better we are able to model it for our youth. 4️⃣ 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹. I keep most cards that are given to me. They are dear to me. It means something to me that someone took the time to pick out a card, write a message in it or select a meaningful for message, and mail it to me. I don’t take that as a little thing. Today Rural Councils Victoria joined more than 50 organisations as the Access for Every Child Coalition and launched a powerful joint statement in Canberra. Led by advocacy organisation The Parenthood, we are urging all governments to take six key actions to deliver equitable access to early childhood education and care in rural, regional and remote Australia. "The Access for Every Child Coalition advocates for accessible, affordable, high-quality early childhood education and care in regional, rural, and remote areas," Maddy Butler, Campaign Director of The Parenthood, said. "Children in regional, rural and remote areas are missing out on the same opportunities as those in urban centres, which impacts not only their individual development but also the broader community's economic and social wellbeing. "When parents and carers do not have reliable early childhood education and care for their children, their ability to work is severely compromised, which in turn affects local businesses and essential services," Butler said. "Consider the case of a nurse in a remote town who must reduce her hours or leave her job because there's no care available. This not only affects her family's income but also access to critical healthcare services that the community relies on." The Access for Every Child Coalition released a joint statement today at Parliament House, calling on the Federal Government to implement six actions to ensure all children in regional, rural and remote areas receive equitable access to early education: • Implement strong public management of the early childhood education and care (ECEC) system in collaboration with state and territory governments • Offer a range of supply-side subsidies for ECEC providers in rural and remote areas • Invest in quality Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled integrated early years services in rural and remote areas • Implement a regional, rural and remote national workforce strategy including culturally safe training for First Nations educators • Improve family day care and in home care provision, and • Provide interim solutions. The coalition, comprising a diverse group of stakeholders, is committed to working alongside government at all levels to implement these critical reforms. The campaign's goal is to ensure that every child in Australia, regardless of their location, has the opportunity to thrive.
