Learning Experience Designer | Learner | I create learning to fit an ever-changing world of learners.
Join Dr. Heather Tolbut and I today for a breakdown of how teenagers really respond to technology. People assume that all students understand how technology works and that they have lived with watching videos and recording videos and posting pictures that they are well versed in how technology works. News flash... many struggle with basics such as e-mail, formatting documents, and other basics, like problem solving that can make using tech in the classroom a nightmare for teachers. If you need a fight recorded, they are the people to ask. Episode 2 of "Seriously? They Did What?" is out today on all major listening platforms. Plus, I added a link to our still partially functional site. (Working on it.) https://lnkd.in/eYRFh5Tq

With AI dominating conversations across the technology industry, it is easy to forget how vital more foundational technology is to allow teachers to deliver the best learning experiences for their students. When every student in a classroom has a fully functional laptop it can enhance learning and develop more engaging lessons, but pressures on budgets can often make this simple goal difficult. Listen to Jack Hinchliffe from HP and RM’s Max Feneck discuss the importance of ensuring technology is accessible to schools and their students, and the need for the EdTech industry to stay behind parental contribution schemes. As school budgets are consumed by building repairs, energy prices, and general upkeep, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find resource for the teachers who deliver excellent learning experiences and the students who benefit from it. It is important that technology does not add to these financial pressures and general stresses, but instead acts as a leveller in the classroom. Simple subscription models enable schools and trusts to spread the costs and create an evergreen device strategy. This means they get to keep up with technology without the annual one off outlay and knee jerk purchase. This partnership includes the ability for a parental contribution scheme to ensure that each child gets a uniform device that powers their learning, whilst reinvesting funds into technology priorities. This is what matters in education, and it is vital that our industry keeps up with this work. Take a look at the link and video below to discover more.
