Hey there – I’m Jennifer and I’m the owner of Wildflower Center for Counseling. I wanted to share that we are in the process of hiring more clinicians to join our team. The positions available include both in-person and virtual opportunities, with varying hourly expectations. While understanding the numbers are always important {productivity expectations, compensation, and everything in between}, I was hoping to take a moment to share what it would look like to become a part of the Wildflower team.
When I decided to grow the Wildflower team back in 2019, one of the most important aspects for me was ensuring we created a work environment which aligned with certain core values. I had worked as a therapist in various locations prior where I ran into difficulties as I felt like management was disconnected from the day-to-day work of their staff – or I was continuously pushed to reach unrealistic productivity numbers – or I was on an island all alone without much clinical guidance or support. This was not the environment I wanted to create for my staff. In Wildflower’s Core Values, you can see that I discuss wanting to create a homelike atmosphere, a safe and welcoming environment, and a place where everyone is treated with honesty, respect, and empathy. While yes – most people would be correct in assuming that this was primarily directed towards our clients. However, this is also how I strive to treat my staff members.
As of today, Wildflower is a team of 14 therapists. And I truly mean it when I say we are a team. We do work separately with our clients therapeutically, but we also lean on one another – whether needing to engage in case consultations or to take a moment to simply laugh together in between sessions. Wildflower provides group clinical meetings once a month, at which time case consultation can take place. We have also hosted voluntary team bonding events throughout time. In the past these events included building terrariums at Plant House and taking a sailing cruise around the harbor. While Wildflower has a clinically strong team, we also have an amazing group of individuals.
I’ve occasionally wondered if I’m simply biased about my team. And I’ll admit, I probably am. I have seen how hard they work, how dedicated they are to their clients, and what amazing human beings they are. So yep – I LOVE to brag about them. Wildflower would not be what it is without them. If you are uncertain about the environment, come by and visit – and you will have a chance to glimpse the team I am fortunate to work alongside every day.
So, as I mentioned at the beginning of this novel, we are looking to hire a couple of additional clinicians to join this team. I’ll run through a few of the nitty gritty details in the comment section – but if you have further questions on anything please feel free to either private message me or email me at jhigley@wildflowercfc.com
