Snowflake Northstar Conference: My Numerical Methods App! I don't post often on LinkedIn, but I reckoned it would be a good idea to share my experience at the Northstar Conference hosted by Snowflake last Saturday. The event was truly incredible, offering so much to learn. The highlight for me was the Streamlit Bonanza Session, where my web app won the best application award! I've detailed the entire experience in the following article. Do give it a read! https://lnkd.in/grSC4C2t Farhan Choudhary, Kamesh Sampath, Hemant Raorane

🌟 Snowflake Northstar Conference Highlights 🌟 I recently attended the Snowflake Northstar Conference in Hyderabad along with my colleagues, and it was an incredible learning experience! 1. Hands-on Learning Tracks: The conference offered three exciting tracks: Data Engineering, Gen AI / ML, and Applications. Attendees could choose their preferred track and participate in hands-on labs. I focused on exploring Snowflake’s Gen AI and ML capabilities, which included sessions on Snowpark, Snowflake Cortex, and building ML-based functions without code. 2. Snowflake Cortex and Arctic: The sessions delved into Snowflake Cortex, an exciting feature that enables ML predictions and anomaly detection directly within Snowflake. We also explored Snowflake Arctic, which provides a seamless way to analyze time-series data. 3. No-Code Predictions: Imagine building powerful predictions and detecting anomalies without writing complex code! The conference showcased how Snowflake empowers users to achieve this using its native capabilities. 4. Snowflake Native App Framework: I also attended sessions on building Snowflake native applications. The framework allows developers to create custom apps within Snowflake, enhancing data collaboration and insights. 5. Networking and Community Engagement: Connecting with industry experts, fellow builders, and Data Superheroes was a highlight. I learned how others are leveraging the Snowflake ecosystem to innovate and collaborate. Overall, the Northstar Conference left me inspired and equipped with practical knowledge. Kudos to the Snowflake team for organizing such an enriching event! 🚀 #SnowflakeNorthstar #DataInnovation #ML #SnowflakeCortex #snowflake #NorthstarConferance #Cortex

After attending the DevDay at Snowflake conference and seeing a lot of familiar faces, makes me wonder if anyone has done analysis of how many seasoned Snowflake practitioners attend compared to Net new to Snowflake folks? Would the vendors pitch base introduction or more innovation? What can be the human physiology behind doing Back2back conferences from competitors? E.g. Snowflake and Databricks. Would it make sense for them to have those at the same time and find loyal customer cohorts? If these are knowledge sharing conferences, why not stream all sessions? Thoughts?

Sorry for the Quiet Spell -- But I am Back! I know I've been a bit quiet lately, but I promise it's for a good reason! At Astrato, 🚀 things have been heating up 🔥, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share some of the news. In June, we attended both the Snowflake and Databricks conferences, and the response was nothing short of overwhelming. 👏 Our booth received an amazing reception as the audience quickly recognized the value of Astrato. Our combination of modern, low code, pixel-perfect, feature-rich, native writeback, and self-service reporting capabilities, all at a highly competitive cost appeared to resonate with everyone and drove highly engaging conversation. But wait, there's more! I am thrilled to announce that Astrato 🚀 has been accepted into Snowflake's Ready Validation Program, recognizing our commitment to excellence. Landing the first slot might seem alphabetical, but I'd like to think there are other reasons – you be the judge. 😉🍒 As July kicks off 📅, I promise to be more active again here, so stay tuned for more exciting updates. #astrato #dataanalytics #snowflake #databricks #snowflakesummit #databrickksummit

The most EXTREME thing during the Snowflake Summit 24 ? How about a demo performed live by a person selected RANDOMLY from the audience ? 🤯 And who saw the feature for the first time ever (like we almost all did). All in front of 15k people in the hall and tens of thousands live online ? And this brave person (Alicia 👏 ), when asked about her experience with Snowflake so far, answered humbly: “Oh, I have logged-in to Snowflake like 6 times”. The Snowflake’s “it just works” in (extreme) practice. The demo was about the new Cortex Search: "a-few-clicks-to-be-able-to-chat-with-my-documents" feature (yeah with ALL the document information retrieval, chunking, RAGing, vectorization, LLMing, ranking, chat UI generation, etc, etc. done auto-magically in the background). It was even explaning the LLM generated answers by highlighting the pieces of source documents from which the answer was taken by the large language model. And no halucinations - when the question was completely out of the source documents' context, the chat response was the most correct: "I do not know the answer". Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product @ Snowflake, did something what any demo-er would never risk… I hope the Keynotes will be released to public soon, so y’all will see it too. Folks around me (and I myself) were almost standing on our chairs in anticipation of something going south. When everything worked the hall erupted. 🚀 The second eruption was when all the lights slowly dimmed and then turned off completely, all the screenshots in animations displayed on the stage monitors went from white to black - announcing the DARK MODE 😎 ! What a chilling moment ! People were leaving the theater smiling - I mean what else... To me (and I have seen a few): the BEST KEYNOTE EVER ! Snowflake Product team: Kudos ! You rock ! ❄

Yesterday, I spent all day at various events. First in line was Snowflake, organised by Infotrust. There, I finally met Mathias Granberg face-to-face, talked to Ajith Menon Kidaparambil, and saw Olli Ek in action (in the photo, he looks like an angry Viking, but he's super chill and not that intimidating like he looks in the photo 😂). I see that, finally, we have some Snowflake love in Lithuania! Yeah, I also talked about my experience across different companies with Snowflake (I consider myself technology agnostic, so if you have some questions I can answer from my own experience - feel free to DM me. I'm not affiliated with Snowflake). After a quick lunch with Edvinas Radvilavičius, we rushed to a Google event about marketing data analytics. Interestingly, I have almost no experience in marketing analytics, so it was an excellent place to learn from the industry experts. I had no idea about counterfactual testing, its application, and the difference from A/B testing. Apart from learning, I got out with a Google sweatshirt (who doesn't like swag?). The fun thing is that Flo Health Inc. and Databricks are also organising an event in Vilnius today! Various data communities seem to be coming back from the dead and making a big bang! If you're coming to today's event, say hi. I'm super excited to nerd out on various data topics! #learning #knowledge #sharing #community #data

Last week marked my one-year anniversary at DataSense. Since I started my DataSense journey, I have had the opportunity to meet many new interesting people with similar interests during and after work hours. I have also expanded my knowledge on topics such as Snowflake and Microsoft's Azure platform. 🤝 This triggered me to deep dive into Microsoft Fabric and present the next DataTalks - 𝙐𝙣𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙤𝙛𝙩 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙘 together with my colleague Matthias Smeets. 🧶 Microsoft Fabric, a hot topic where we take you through a full end-to-end business case and unravel step by step where the strengths and pitfalls of Fabric lie. 💥 Are you interested?
