How to disable/hide debug message when ubuntu startup? here are the simple steps 1. Open grub file in sudo mode sudo vim /etc/default/grub 2. update the below variable GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet #Don't show Ubuntu bootup text GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="console=tty12" #Don't show kernel text 3. After editing the file, you need to run update-grub. sudo update-grub 4. Reboot the system you will not see any debug message when ubuntu boot. Thanks for reading! #restart

The open source world has been shaken by the xz scandal it's affecting Debian for versions of xz 5.6.0 and 5.6.1. Just run in your terminal: 'xz --version' to check it out. Normally Ubuntu LT is still using 5.2.5 so you should be safe.
