👉 Alliance For Women in Beer's BREW campaign to get more women in the industry. Building Relationships & Empowering Women (BREW) held an event last week in partnership with Alliance For Women in Beer. Whole Foods Global Beer Merchant, Mary Guiver, told attendees that beer has a battle to fight to bring in more female consumers. ‘Spirits do a good job of appealing to women’, Guiver claims, ‘but beer is behind – it has to dig itself out of decades of positioning women as not the target consumer’. Molson Coors Beverage Company CFO, Tracey Joubert, said ‘the more diverse you are, the better your financial performance’. The argument is that if women are better accounted for in the industry, it could be the solution to the drop in sales of the beer industry. Spirits are (generally) thriving thanks to appealing to men, women and everyone in between. But beer has always been primarily male-focused. If beer brands could be headed by women, there’s no doubt that a female audience would follow. Source: https://lnkd.in/eppwvJHU #cpg #spirits #allianceforwomen

The face of the restaurant industry is changing. Long dominated by men in both the kitchen and in ownership, the last few years have seen big changes in hospitality. In fact, restaurant owner data shows that nearly half of all restaurants are owned or co-owned by women and one third are majority-owned by women. www.cpgconnect.ca/news: The grocery sector in Canada has come a long way in terms of diversity, but the reality is that there is still a significant lack of women in executive board positions, especially when it comes to the produce sector. Industry veterans Amanda Knauff and Leah Hardy are hoping to change that with the recent launch of the first Women’s Produce Network through the Ontario Produce Marketing Association (OPMA). https://lnkd.in/gGsQYVns www.cpgconnect.ca/news follows Consumer Goods and Retail News.
