In 1968, Dr. Laurence Peter defined a new concept that has been proven right until today, and we all experienced it in our careers or around us. I had contact with this concept 20 years ago when I was an avid reader of management books; I was thirsty to learn more and more. Since then, I always kept this in the back of my mind, and I also use it to help professionals improve their self-awareness. It is very easy to go with the flow and accept promotions that we don't want or aren't prepared for; it is difficult to say no and deal with the consequences, but we must deal with it sooner or later or we will be the proof that the Peter principle is right.
