If you're going to use AI to write your cover letter, you should know that it (AI) starts every single cover letter with "I am excited to apply for..." and every third paragraph with "Furthermore,". If you're going to use AI to write your cover letter: - Upload the job description and your resume and ask for some tips - Ask for a unique outline or template - Use AI to proofread your work But write it yourself.

Ann Handley knows how to call BS when she sees it. Big Shifts, that is. AI is causing them, but it's no cause for panic, gloom, and doom. Marketing is supposed to be fun. Remember?! How is AI shaping the future of healthcare marketing strategies? Now that Google's AI Overviews are here to stay, search and traffic to your site are changing. What does this mean for your healthcare organization? Aaron Watkins from Johns Hopkins Medicine summed it up perfectly in just a few points: 1. We need to think deeply about our customer journey and the pathways people take into and through our websites. Minimize friction. 2. People are entering at a deeper level, more ready to take action. Think about how to meet their needs: less top-of-funnel content; more specialties, locations, insurance, appointments, etc. 3. Healthcare is about service. Demonstrate your capacity for service in a more meaningful way. 4. Think about the value of your system as a whole. What sets you apart from others in your region or in your specialty? 5. The best news? The possible changes in organic traffic frees you up to focus more on content where you provide the most value. How do we survive the media apocalypse? Online content is getting crappier, digital publishers are folding, Google is getting harder to use, and AI is making everything worse. That's a pretty gloomy outlook for an optimist like me, but ... no lies detected. What's a bright-eyed, future-forward marketer to do? The only thing that can be done: Keep on keepin' on. Keep connecting with humans instead of gaming algorithms. Keep writing content that helps people and answers questions. Keep building on your brand's reputation instead of putting all of your eggs in the search traffic basket. And keep an ear to the ground to know what's coming next... I am excited and honored to be closing out this year's NESHCo conference with a heartfelt take on AI. Integrating AI isn't about replacing our creativity. It's about boosting it. With less than 5% of healthcare organizations prioritizing AI, it's clear that the learning curve and all those (sometimes very cringe) hit-or-miss results are hurdles. Let's talk about bridging that gap—knowing when to leverage AI (and when to skip it) to enhance our human, heart-centered approach.
