It goes beyond mere acknowledgment of diversity and aims to create a culture that actively seeks to understand, appreciate, and leverage the unique perspectives and contributions of all individuals. Intentional inclusion involves conscious efforts to identify and remove barriers, biases, and obstacles that may hinder the full participation of individuals from diverse backgrounds. It requires proactive measures to ensure equitable opportunities, representation, and access, fostering a sense of belonging for everyone within the community, organisation, or space. One week ago, I had the fortunate opportunity to participate in the 2023 Inclusion Summit through a virtual platform. A big thanks to the planning team: Darla Wilkerson, Brenda Perkins, Michael Gonzales, Junann Lopez President of NAAAP KC, Greg Valdovino, Judy Julius, Derrick Nelson, MBA, MA HR (He,Him,His) and Meaghan Walls with aiding who attended virtually. Dulan III, MSM, and Michael Murray A few takeaways included: ▶'Representation builds understanding.' ▶How we show up looks different for everyone. ▶Comprehending the integration of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and its role in advancing the company/organization's mission. ▶'Find joy in the chaos.' ▶'Heal. While there are indications that some companies may be stepping back from their commitments to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), I am proud to work for a company that continues to support and embrace equity and inclusion by fostering an environment where DEIB principles are not just upheld but are a part of our culture. Embracing both our similarities and differences is not just the right thing to do; it's a strategic imperative that drives growth, innovation, and excellence. Our recent audiocast is a testament to our ongoing efforts to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful conversations that challenge us to think differently and act compassionately. We recognize that the journey towards a truly inclusive culture is ongoing, and we are committed to being active participants in this journey. By valuing and leveraging the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of our team, we can create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to contribute their best. #Diversity #Inclusion #Community
As #BlackHistoryMonth concluded last week, we’d like to share some words of wisdom from a recent Q&A session with one of our senior executive directors, Carol Washington, and Jayson Miller, one of our senior talent acquisition advisors. At Acentra Health, we don't just celebrate diversity for one month - it's an ongoing commitment. We strive to be inclusive and embrace our differences in everything we do. This approach not only enhances our recruitment and mentorship initiatives, but also strengthens our community and social outreach efforts with underserved communities. As shared by Carol – may we strengthen our shoulders so that others may be able to see farther as well. #Diversity #Inclusion #Community

Did you know that every 1 out of 7 of us are being diagnosed with neurodiversity? Then you can do the math and think about how many colleagues you have whose daily life is ran by a different "operating system" than yours. I have to admit, that I never gave much attention to this, until one of my daughters was diagnosed and I was so fortunate to hire my amazing assistant Vibeke with a wonderful giving and creative personality and brain wired quite differently to my own 💥🧠 and now I am doing my best to be a good ally. If you wish become an ally, you start with these steps; ✅ Never stop learning. ✅ Don’t make assumptions about behavior. ✅ Communicate clearly. ✅ Use inclusive language. ✅ Open communication without pressure. ✅ Don’t make social things mandatory. ✅ Make sure the team’s spaces are inclusive. ✅ Acknowledge different ways of being. ✅Hear them. ✅ Give a misunderstanding time to work itself out.
This Inclusivity Week, we have a special treat for you! Our founder, Steve Dineen, engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Ritu Kiran-Jackson from Aubilities What was their discussion about? Embracing neurodiversity. Aubilities is renowned for their mission: "Making the invisible, visible." They advocate for the neurodivergent community, promoting enhanced understanding and fostering inclusion in the workforce.Listen to their conversation and gain insights into the beauty of neurodiversity.
