We're one week out from France taking on New Zealand in the opening game of the 2023 RWC - and I can't wait 🍻
Here's a fun fact Graylog, Inc. has customers in 12 of the 20 nations competing - yet to sign a client in Fiji, but count me in for that on-site 🏝
This got me thinking about some of the parallels between the worlds of cyber security 🔒 and rugby 🏉 (shout-out Greg Jackson for the post inspiration).
1️⃣ Good Defence = Good Teamwork - your defence is only as good as your team fighting to make it work, it’s essential everyone knows their individual role as well as their role in the team to defend against attacks.
2️⃣ Visibility is key - in rugby, the best players always seem to have extra time on the pitch and see gaps that others simplify don't. Likewise the best security analysts know that widening visibility across their entire IT environment is crucial for success.
3️⃣ Strategy & Adaptability - rugby is a game of strategy, but the best teams find a way to adapt in realtime to their opponents game plan and adjust their tactics on the fly. Similarly, cybersecurity requires constant strategic and tactical evaluation and the ability to adapt to new live threats.
So, whether you're a rugby fan, a cybersecurity expert, or just think there's no link I won't make to post content (👀) these seemingly distinct worlds share some similarities - Now what you've really been waiting for...here’s my WC hot takes:
- South Africa go back to back and take home the 🏆
- Best ever RWC moment pictured below (I’m super bias) 🏴
- Dupont player of the tournament & Will Jordan top try scorer 🏅
Hmu with your predictions in the comments!
