Here's a thought: would one consider a CBT Tester who regularly submits bug reports including documentation, images, and videos directly to a reputable company's developers, gain resume-worthy experience? I would like to hear what you think about the matter.

Part 2 of "Why You Don't Really Want Talented People Working For You ". Say you have a really talented tester excellent at rooting out defects, and highlighting issues and problems, but they are the subject of frequent complaints by your developers. The root of the discord is that the tester isn't letting the developers get away with stuff, but irrespective the complaints are loud and frequent and we live in times where developers have become accustomed to getting their way. What's going to happen to that tester.

Yes, it's a myth. There's an unhealthy obsession in the software industry as a whole with treating "writing code" as the only technical activity worthy of respect. Critical thinking is a technical skill. In-depth analysis is technical. Investigating problems, designing experiments, figuring out how to reproduce a behavior, noticing differences...all of these are technical skills. If you're not doing _any_ of those things? Forget figuring out whether to call yourself technical or non-technical...you shouldn't be calling yourself a tester.
