After evaluating innumerable applications and ideas and going over multiple layers of deliberation and iterations, TiE Dallas had seven upcoming Startup ideas that caught the eye of our Jury. Well, our Jury wanted the best of the best to be brushed and sent for the TiE University Global finals, and here we were, with four shortlisted semi-finalists.
Saturday, 20th April, rain might have killed the spirit of attendees, but it didn't break the enthusiasm of our four finalists and the Jury. From innovative learning to better physical and mental health solutions, we witnessed business ideas enhancing the experience for Foodies. Witnessing young minds solving real-world and relevant problems was a pleasure.
Our esteemed Jury, Ram Viswanathan, Satyajit "Doc" Doctor, Iqbal (Ike) Mutabanna, and Abhi I., not only gave all the ideas a patient hearing but spent time on each one of them to provide creative criticism and broaden the thought process and made them analyze it with an entrepreneurial mindset. We can't thank them all enough for handholding these bright minds.
We would also like to thank Sundar K, the event champion, for taking time out of his work and executing this event seamlessly.
While they are all winners, sadly, we could only pick one overall winner to represent Dallas at TiE U Global 2024 at TiECON SV next week. We couldn't be more proud of this young, vibrant, and passionate Foody Anisha Holla, Founder and CEO of Foodify, as the winner of TiE U Dallas 2024.
And here is a little bit about our winner:
Anisha Holla, a 21-year-old entrepreneur, has built a successful restaurant marketing startup that has been profitable since day one. She is yet to graduate from college and already has a profitable venture. FoodiFy is a dating app for restaurants and influencers. It connects influencers with restaurant owners, who then pay a fee for that influencer to taste test and post about the restaurant.
In just about eight months, FoodiFy has generated 180 posts with at least 50,000 views, a total of 56 billion impressions, and an average 150 percent increase in sales for its clientele of 25 DFW restaurants, including Casa Pollastro, Piefalootin, and Casa Del Bro. FoodiFy is on pace to generate $1.5 million in revenue in 2024; in 2025, it expects to report $6 million.
We wish her and her team all the best as she prepares for Global.
