Riot Games Teams Up with HP's HyperX and OMEN for a Major Collaboration in Esports and Gaming
Riot Games has just announced a groundbreaking partnership with Hewlett Packard's gaming brands, HyperX and OMEN. The collaboration is set to focus on esports, gaming, and product development.
Under this alliance, OMEN and HyperX will extend their support to global events such as the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), League of Legends, and Teamfight Tactics. Hardware from both brands will be featured in all competitions. Moreover, the collaboration will not only cover event support but also include joint efforts in product development, activations, and marketing campaigns.
In an exciting twist, Riot Games will lend its expertise to HP, contributing to the development of gaming products and hardware. This collaboration aims to enhance and refine existing offerings, subjecting them to the rigorous testing of professional players across various games.

This past week Riot Games released their VCT Team Capsules, a VALORANT skin bundle made alongside the partnered teams from each region. 🗺
Each team bundle will feature a player card, classic gun skin, gun buddy, and a spray. 🎨
Teams were invited to collaborate with VALORANT designers to create each player card, giving teams free access to personalize each card to their communities. 🖌
Bundles are $20 per team, with teams receiving 50% of all profits.
Just off of the yearly champion bundles dating back to 2021, Riot Games has given over $60,000,000 to teams via revenue sharing with skins. 💰
⚡ Quick Take
This is what esports needs more of! It’s a win for everyone from the fans, to the teams, to the devs. In a time where organizations are trying to find ways to become sustainable, this is an easy way to bring in revenue for both organizations and game studios. 🤝
Not only does it allow fans to support their favorite teams, but it also works as an in-game advertisement for those who might be more casual players and not watching or keeping up with the VCT circuit.
Personally, 100 Thieves, Team Liquid, and T1 Entertainment & Sports are my top 3 favorites 🔥
Which one is your favorite? 👀

A new lawsuit filed by OpTic Gaming’s CEO/Founder, Hector Rodriguez and former top-tier player, Seth Abner, attempts to bring balance against the vice grip that publishers have over their properties and demonstrate the insurmountable costs to the teams and organizations that bring eyeballs to the esports scene surrounding those publisher-owned properties.
The impact stemming from a decision in this case will have tidle-wave-like effects on other major publishers such as Riot Games and Epic Games. Whether it results in anything earth-shattering remains to be seen, but nonetheless it is a sign that the grassroots nature of esports is attempting to fight back against the onslaught of corporate disruption that has plagued its growth since the adoption of franchising.
Looking forward to seeing how this case develops and I truly hope it brings attention to all the major problems associated with esports and why the esports industry continues to struggle to alleviate the growing pains of the past decade.
You ever wonder why more and more esports and gaming activations and projects are involving music? Whether original or collaborative, over the last number of years the prevalence of music as a part of the competitive gaming world has just increased.
The answer is simple: creating a bridge between your consumer and your product in the form of pop culture not only increases the consumers' bond to your brand, but also opens up a whole host of ways in which you can market your game to the outside world.
The masters of this phenomenon right now are undoubtedly Riot Games, but they're not the only ones bringing this into their universe. This week I released a video essay talking about this very thing, why it's so successful, and why it's the future of competitive gaming.
