Thanks to the resilience and hard work of marine crews in Newport News, Virginia, Garney and the James River Crossing (JRX) team set a world record for the longest pullback of 42-inch DR-11 pipe. For roughly 24 hours, crews pulled 5,700 feet of pipe under the Newport News shipping channel using a pipe pusher. This new technology allowed the team to overcome pull forces and help assist the million-pound drill rig that was stationary on land. Watch this video to see how the crew completed this record-breaking operation!
Wow, what an incredible achievement, Huxted Trenchless! Setting a world record and surpassing the previous one by 25% is truly remarkable. Your dedication and hard work clearly shine through. Congratulations to the entire JRX Team on this outstanding accomplishment!
