Zero fossil fuels or emissions by 2050. ⚡ That's the promise our new Central Energy Hub will help us realize to make our major Detroit flagship hospital expansion one of the largest fully electric-capable hospital facilities in the country. “As a health system, we plan to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050,” said Robin Damschroder, our executive vice president, chief financial and business development officer. “What will be happening inside the Central Energy Hub is a meaningful example of how we are making our sustainability pledges a reality.” The Central Energy Hub will feature a hot and chilled water pump system that will provide electric heating and cooling to the Destination: Grand hospital facilities — the new patient tower, shared services building and parking deck— making it possible to limit, and eventually fully avoid, natural gas usage in those facilities. The 4-story, 30,000-square-foot Central Energy Hub will feature cutting-edge technology, such as being designed for full electrification, waste heat recovery and digital energy management. Beautifully designed with the community in mind, the building will integrate seamlessly into the new campus on the southwest corner of the Destination: Grand development site on W. Grand Blvd.

Henry Ford is a great organization to work for, The New Cental Energy Plant was also a great CEP to work and operate, love it!! I love this new innovation and new technology being implemented, Robin don't forget to take advantage of Michigan Cold weather and raining day and convert rain droplets into Ice utilizing a glycol chilled system, once water melt back down to cold water, run it thru chillers, you will save $$ on city water And conserve energy, Vice-versa if you heat up the ice cube thru a different channel, perhaps is can be use as condensate return water for boiler, Etc etc #economizer

Reality is Fosil Fuels are not going away! Solar Panels may be part of Henry Ford’s Health in the project, Fossil Fuels are not going away anytime soon Tom Raymond ConsultingLLC
