BIG NEWS! Our new Medal of Honor Character Development Program resource is here! PATH TO HONOR encourages self-exploration of the six values embodied in the Medal of Honor: courage, commitment, integrity, sacrifice, citizenship, and patriotism. Students select a module focusing on one of the core values and trace the steps of Medal of Honor Recipients. As they hear stories in the Recipients’ own words, students decide what they would do in that moment, then hear the rest of the story and reflect on the values demonstrated, making real-life connections to character values. Learn more about PATH TO HONOR here: https://lnkd.in/e8jS4qBk

Emergency Response Coordinator at RedR UK | MSc International Development | Blending Architecture, Urban Planning and Humanitarianism to Build Resilient Communities
During the course of last year, my role in RedR UK focused primarily on responding to the emergencies caused by the earthquakes in Türkiye, Syria, and Morocco, as well as the floods in East Libya; and one of the mutual issues emerging from all these disasters was the impact of communications blackout hindering recovery and rescue efforts (e.g. section 6.9 in our EEFIT Mission report in Türkiye: https://lnkd.in/drjGhqnA ). However, another mutual characteristic was the lack and absence of protocols in restoring communications in the first 24-48 hours, which is believed to cause more loss of life. Albeit, not part of a national strategy, but Huawei in Libya managed to quickly act and support the rescue efforts by reestablishing sites in the affected areas (a lot more in the video shared by Aymen below). I'm not a telecoms engineer, but that's just my two cents on the matter. #DRR #Engineering #Humanitarianism
Honored to be part of an inspiring documentary! 🎥 We had the incredible opportunity to re-enact the heroic efforts of Huawei team members who swiftly restored network services in the city of Darnah following a devastating catastrophe. Their dedication and resilience enabled them to accomplish this remarkable feat in less than 72 hours. This documentary not only showcases their technical skills but also their unwavering commitment to helping communities in times of need. On July 4th we celebrate the courage of those men and women who embraced the idea of freedom and indepedence and sacrificed much to earn it. It took over seven years from the time the Declaration of Independence was signed until the day the British surrendered, but those in the halls of Congress, and those who rallied behind such a powerful ideal didn't know how long the task would last. Today we are honored and inspired by those same "self- evident" truths to continue building a more perfect Union, no matter how long the task will take. Happy Indepedence Day! #independenceday #transformers #distributiontransformers #fieldservices #temporarypower #circulareconomy #sustainability #rentalpower
Happy Independence Day! Today we celebrate the freedom and unity in our country that empowers us to achieve greatness at Sunbelt Solomon.

If you are feeling anxious about the future, or curious about what you could do to make things better, you could do worse than listen to this conversation between Daniel Christian Wahl and Satish Kumar. Satish Kumar is enchanting. A treasured elder in the greatest sense, you could not make up his life story (spoiler: it involves walking penniless halfway around the world as a disciple of Ghandi, meeting Martin Luther King and founding Schumacher College). He offers some profound wisdom here, from his advice on worrying (don't: be present, live simply and elegantly, serve) to his advice to young people (don't fear ups and downs: they are our teachers, and give us resilience). His optimism for the future, after all his life experiences, is genuine and infectious. I am increasingly impressed by Daniel's ability to self reflect, even if that exposes uncertainty and pain. I met Daniel a few months before this, and in our own conversation around a campfire felt a connection to one struggle he articulates, about where to focus one's energy. He describes the power of simple work on the land and connection with nature to regenerate the self. Balancing this with commitments to larger collaborative professional projects and initiatives can be difficult, especially when anxieties about the future are foremost in the mind. But belief in a better future, and our power to influence it through our choices must be held close. And if we are drawn to the work and do it with love and pride, like the artisan, then connection, enrichment and growth can be found there too. Much more in this rich conversation. Thanks Daniel for sharing this and salutations to you both🙏 #Conversation #Regeneration #philosophy #LifeLessons

On September 11, 2001, the world witnessed one of the most devastating acts of terrorism in modern history. The coordinated attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 innocent people. The impact of 9/11 was profound, not only in terms of the lives lost but also in shaping global politics and security measures. It served as a wake-up call, highlighting the vulnerability of nations and the importance of international cooperation in combating terrorism. The memory of 9/11 continues to evoke a sense of loss, resilience, and the ongoing struggle for peace.
As we reflect on the anniversary of September 11th, we continue to remember the lives that were taken and honor the first responders and countless others who displayed immense courage and sacrifice. We will never forget.
