We are excited to announce the final fund close of our inaugural Wellington Climate Innovation Fund at US$385 million in commitments. The fund is focused on investing in private companies helping to mitigate or adapt to climate change. “Climate change has the potential to significantly impact the global economy and markets and is therefore one of the largest investment opportunities we will see in our lifetimes,” said Greg Wasserman, Head of Wellington’s Private Climate Investing. The Fund invests in late-venture and early-growth companies developing solutions with potential to aid in the climate transition. The team leverages Wellington’s deep sustainability and research capabilities, and partners with Woodwell Climate Research Center (WCRC), a leading independent climate change research institute along with the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change to understand the long-term trends and opportunities in the private markets. Super excited to partner with Arch and SPAN Consumers need to electrify their homes with solar & batteries, EVs, heat pumps and induction stoves to solve climate change, but run into all sorts to expensive bottlenecks around the electrical panel.
