Without LinkedIn I think i'd have missed my "5-year work anniversary," so thanks all for the well wishes. As it happens, i've only managed to hold down one other job for 5 yrs, & then changed shortly thereafter. But Faith Angle's different. In 2018, a mentor said, "Take the job---but only do it if you'll do it for at least 10 years. Don't make it a stepping stone." That was good cousel & it's impacted the way my colleagues & i have tried to build the program. It isn't a stepping stone. Last month we published a new video that gets right to the "why" of FAF's work. Hope you'll check it out---& i hope to check back in on progress at the 10-year mark: https://lnkd.in/epCE5bB4

The past 8 months have been the most challenging, rewarding, hectic, at times frustrating and certainly the most insightful period in my professional life. Building a global DEI community from the ground up has not been without bumps and a fair amount of uncertainty but it has definitely been worth it🙏 I have learned so much from interacting with hundreds of DEI Club members in all kinds of settings, from webinars, panel and roundtable discussions to numerous bi-lateral conversations and written exchanges. A heartfelt thank you to all our passionate community members for engaging, connecting with, and supporting each other, and so generously sharing – that is how we learn and grow together! ❤️🌱 Over the summer I’ve reflected a lot on how far DEI Club has come, what I’ve observed and learned about the state of DEI in organizations, and what I would like the onward journey to bring. I started DEI Club with an ambition to help others create human-centric and inclusive workplaces – and through that make a positive mark on the world. This mission still feels incredibly meaningful, and I truly believe DEI Club has a role to play. In fact, I am convinced we can make a much bigger impact if we unleash the full potential of our global and growing community. But I’ve also come to the conclusion that realizing our potential requires something more. During the past months, we’ve therefore worked tirelessly to prepare the next and upgraded version of DEI Club. I believe we can find new ways to help organizations humanize the workplace through community powered learning. We are therefore going to expand the scope and reach of what we do, while of course maintaining all the key elements that work well today. So, stay tuned for more very soon 🌈🤝🚀 #imaginewhatwecanachievetogether #wemindset #growingtogether

Celebrating endings is often overlooked amidst the anticipation of fresh starts. Yet, these closures carry immense significance, marking the conclusion of chapters that pave the way for new beginnings. They signify growth, transformation, and the opportunity for renewal. Every conclusion signifies a milestone—a diploma earned, a relationship bid adieu, or even the closure of a significant life phase. These endings aren't merely conclusions; they embody the wisdom gained, the experiences cherished, and the lessons learned. They encapsulate the stepping stones that lead to new adventures and prospects waiting on the horizon. Celebrating endings isn't about disregarding the past; it's about acknowledging its significance while embracing the prospects of tomorrow. It's a time to reflect, appreciate, and bid farewell with gratitude, recognizing that each ending, no matter how challenging, prepares the groundwork for a fresh start. Welcoming the new requires bidding adieu to the old—creating space for growth, innovation, and novel experiences. As we celebrate endings, let's embrace the change they bring, for they lay the foundation for the exciting and unknown opportunities awaiting us. After all, without endings, there would be no new beginnings. #itsnotend #beginning #newbeginnings #celebrateyourself #swenservices #freeconsultation

Are your actions in alignment with what you are truly grateful for? 🙏 How do you treat people when you think they should behave differently? How do you treat someone when you take the time to consciously find all that you are grateful for in events where they supported you and events where they challenged you? 🌈 Every person is unique and is striving to achieve what is important to them. It is interesting to observe how often we think that other people should do what we want! 🤯 If you aren't offering someone fair exchange, don't be surprised when that relationship falls away. ⚖️ #SelfLeadership #RelationshipManagement #Gratitude #BusinessEthics #FairExchange

Community Specialist at Genuin| Top LinkedIn Voice 2023| Founder of The Group Chat Queen| Talks about how to build a global 🌏 community
After engaging in 100+ coffee chats ☕ with founders, students interested in VC, investors, and others, I've gathered some valuable insights. 🧠 Through my brand, The Group Chat Queen 👑, I regularly connect with founders eager to scale or kick-start a community for a specific demographic. At the end of our discussions, I love to provide a tailored Word doc 📝 filled with tips and suggestions, drawing from my years of experience building communities through group chats. This way, they can skip the trial-and-error process. 🔄 Here are my top 5 unique insights for building a group chat community from scratch (VC version): 1. Dedicated Community Manager: It's super helpful to have someone who can consistently answer questions and spark discussions in the community chat. Pro tip: have a couple of other people to help with user engagement. If the chat goes quiet, you've got backup so you're not just talking to yourself. 🗣️ 2. Partnering with External Entrepreneurship/VC Communities: To broaden our reach and foster collaborations, consider partnering with other entrepreneurship communities outside your alma mater. Platforms like Partiful or Lu.ma are great for hosting joint events, encouraging the exchange of ideas and networking opportunities. 🤝 3. Mentorship Program: A well-structured mentorship program can bridge the gap between current students and alumni. This program can offer valuable guidance, advice, and support to budding VC analysts and associates. 🎓 4. Freshman Ambassador Program: Setting up a freshman ambassador program, similar to Start@Shea, can give incoming students a sense of belonging and connect them with seasoned members who can guide them through their VC industry journey. 🚀 5. Member Survey: Running a survey, perhaps through a Google Form, can help understand the preferences and needs of our community members. This data will allow us to customize activities and services to better cater to their interests. A huge issue is that people waste all their time creating things they think their community will want, and not actually what they want. 📊 Let's build communities that truly serve their members! 💪🌐 #genzinvestors #genzfounders #globalcommunity #buildingcommunity

Good enough software One of the great chapters from the book "The Pragmatic Programmer" that I have read. Just like its name, the chapter talks about a mindset in the product development process. After a continuous period of researching and developing new product, our team has finally understood and experienced the correctness of this philosophy. With limited resources, we always have to consider each feature of the product. You cannot know what a perfect product is for users, but you can define what done means and need to know when to stop. Our team usually lists ideas and tasks, prioritizes them, finalizes the plan, then implements and releases them to users. After receiving feedback, that's when we continue to improve and make the product better, aiming for perfection. Our product has completed development in phase 2 and is about to launch to customers with a lot of new updates. Let's Celebrate is a comprehensive platform designed to help brides and grooms plan, manage task and their budget, handle guest lists, and connect with wedding planners to ensure a smooth wedding experience. This could be the wrong place for this kind of post. Heather Davies, Communicating Sustainability is now well used to my rambling thoughts. As we've spent the last few weeks thinking about the Re-Action Collective voice and message with the support of some brilliant people, thank you ✌️John Brown and Isabelle Drury. The Re-Action Collective started after reading Jon Alexander's book "Citizens", and ever since we've continued to develop around the core idea of being a citizen not a consumer. The result is that Re-Action is about rejecting a broken system, and building collective agency. For me the high point of Re-Action has been the brilliant campaign, conjured up by Heather, #citizenfriday. Personally, I've grabbed hold of this campaign with both hands and spent the last few months being a citizen on Fridays. It has been a mind opening experience. I've given myself space, time in the outdoors, read, volunteered, listened, played, I've done anything really other than be a consumer. Citizen Friday thoughts have entered every aspect of my life. In a short space of time it has fundamentally changed me, and I've shed the very last part of thinking of myself as a consumer. I've just "Let it Go". Jon Alexander talks about the Citizen story emerging everywhere, and how you just need to tune in to see it. I'm part of a Collective that is shaped around the emergence of the citizen story, and I'm fortunate to see it everywhere. So much so, that when I listen hard I can find it in some odd places. Take this track from Bru-C a British MC and rapper from Long Eaton, Derbyshire. His lyrics touch on the distractions I've removed through Citizen Friday, and about letting the consumer story go. They talk to me about the work I've been doing with Karl Brown on the social media platform Curv, and they speak about the power of collective action. Jon Alexander will be the first to admit that the citizen story will not take hold if it resides in our world alone, it needs to make it into popular culture. Maybe this track is an example of just that happening? This platform is not the place where you'd usually find the lyrics of a British MC from Long Eaton. Anyways, here are few lines. The system is so frightening though, Temptations are inviting, woah I've been scrolling for ages, Global control by the matrix (Let it go) I write rhymes for a reason Bru-C, I'm fighting for freedom (Let it go) Young people lost ain't no one giving them guidance, listen to I, There's so much pressure to achieve, but I'm looking at success and what the definition be Make perfection on a screen but content is what they're never gonna be, Newest car or the truest heart, real happiness is finding happiness in who you are Eyes glued, likes, views, its a big distraction One voice ain't gonna strike but if millions came to unite we could (Let it go) ------------- It might sound a bit crazy but I think Bru-C and I, are on a similar journey!

So … what exactly is a B Corp? It’s B Corp Month, and what better way to kick it off than by explaining what a B Corp is! A B Corp is a company that cares about more than just making a profit. B Corps want to have a positive impact on people (their workers and customers), the communities they operate in, and the planet as a whole. To become a B Corp, they must complete a comprehensive assessment which looks at how responsible they are towards society and the environment. If they receive a sufficiently high score (at least 80/200), they then become certified as a B Corp by B Lab. So, when you see a company with the B Corp logo, it means they're committed to balancing profit with purpose. It’s kind of like a stamp of approval, so that you can be sure they are credible, transparent and genuinely doing sustainable good in the world through ethical practices. Above are some key B Corp definitions that you’ll be seeing more of in some of our posts this month! Do you have any questions about B Corp? If so, drop it in the comments below and we’ll do our best to answer them! Professional maker @ monday.com | Making office life and space more engaging, productive, and appealing for customers and employees alike 🤖
Check out this video : https://lnkd.in/dnKCBiRZ A throne for our Chairman 🌟 About a year into my job, my colleague Michael Hermon and I embarked on one of the most emusing projects I ever had. After monday.com's successful IPO in 2021, we decided to welcome our new chairman with a gift that would leave everyone speechless. 💬 Forget the usual fancy presents—our mission was to craft something extraordinary, whimsical, and downright hilarious. And so, the Chairman’s Throne was born! A majestic seat adorned with golden brass, intricate woodwork, and 3D-printed magic. ✨ It wasn’t just a chair; it was a masterpiece—a blend of art, humor, and craftsmanship. This thing roared as you sat on it, lit up with LED’s embedded into the back rest, had Llama heads light up (don’t ask why llamas), had buttons that gave out catch phrases that our chairman usually used and more. Our new chairman loved it! Now, it graces his meeting room alongside the “regular” chairs, reminding me that my projects are as global as can be. 🌈 Shoutout to Joel Goldstein, the genius behind our cheeky fake ad. Noy Gurevitz is our fake chairman. From concept to design, from scouting the perfect chair to the hands-on manufacturing, I used all my expertise in this project. It’s moments like these that make this job as fun as can be, using my trade to make someone be amazed and amused, I think he was.. follow for more projects ahead. #mondayMagic #CreativeChair #mondaymakers
