By partnering with like-minded individuals, organizations, and relevant stakeholders, a startup NGO can amplify its impact, expand its reach, and build a solid foundation for success. The for-profit sector is competitive but the nonprofit sector is much more competitive because of the limited resources and revenue-generating activity restrictions. However, through strategic partnerships, a startup NGO can leverage shared resources, expertise, and networks to accelerate its growth. Some thoughts about healthcare and specifically mental healh in light of the #october7 events in #Israel I have the privilege to speak to many many people and organizations that are doing beautiful things. And with 20 years of consulting background I needed to pause today and I felt the need to share some thoughts. Israelis did the best that we could do and created many MVP (minimum viable products) to respond to the immediate needs of our country Everything not for profit As volunteers We are really good at that in this country - the startup nation of course We also scaled up those MVPs very quickly because the need was so urgent If it was not the war, we would have created one proof of concept with one population, and then we would’ve scaled up after we knew that it worked. But we didn’t have the luxury of time. After six weeks, it’s time to take a more serious look at this. Think about the product that you built and that you brought to market. Look around the table because the founders might not have the same vision about what needs to happen now. Is there still a need for your product on this market? Is your product high-quality? Should you bring your product to new populations or should you adapt your product to the population you’re working with? You were the best person to build the MVP but are you the best person to grow it ? Donors must also play a role now. The role that VCs play in the startup world. What white space is the initiative responding to? What is the quality of the product? Is the team the right one? Ask the hard questions to make sure the best solutions can scale quickly. Don’t be too cautious either - you could put lives at risk by waiting too long. It’s a difficult yoga exercise but you need to be able to do both.
