Last week at Cinder we held our second annual company onsite on Nantucket, and each year I come ever closer to moving myself and the entire company “on island”. Ok maybe not but it was truly amazing to be able to get together as a team and spend an entire week working together in such an incredible environment. We stayed in 3 quaint houses a short walk from town and the beach and had some really great conversations and got a lot done. Some highlights include: • Regular ole in-person work. Just getting together and white boarding, collaborating, and building in person was highly engaging and difficult to simulate remotely. • Early morning ocean swims. • Sharing the Y Combinator office hours experience with the whole company via a Q&A with Michael Seibel. • Very serious ghost tour where I think my favorite "haunting" was when supposedly a bunch of people befriended an alleged ghost who was dressed up as an old 17th century whaler and would kind of just hang out at the restaurant together. • Lobster rolls.
