Agreed. Some will argue that they don't have the ability to conform to payroll requirements in different states. If that's the case do one of the following: 1. Outsource payroll for remote positions. Most providers work across the US. 2. Clarify in the position announcement what states you have payroll operations.

I've stopped applying for "REMOTE" positions unless it is explicitly stated in the job description. Why? It's being abused by job posters! I would go as far to say that a majority of the "remote" jobs that I look at require being on-site. You can't manually inspect things or do lab work remotely. Sorry, you just can't. Further, many of these "remote" jobs seem to do it to get better visibility on their positions that offer relocation. I've see the same job probably 10-15 times in the last 2 days tied to different cities. The job description starts off "Full Relocation to ______ is offered!" Maybe they mean that relocation is optional but it touts its great environment so I doubt it. At this point, I've wasted too much time applying to positions that I'm not interested in moving to that location because they claimed to be remote. #Recruiters please stop this! #LinkedIN please add an option to report non-remote positions that are advertising as remote, so that the worst offenders are removed. This is wasting so much time for everyone and throttling the number of quality candidates that actual remote positions are getting. Anyone else noticing the same thing?
