Nintendo's financial report for the first half of FY24, which concluded on September 30, is nothing short of impressive. Their revenue reached a staggering $5.3 billion, showcasing a remarkable 21.2% YoY increase. What's even more astounding is the operating profit, which surged by 27% to reach $1.86 billion during the same period. One of the key drivers of this success has been ‘Tears of the Kingdom’, a game that has significantly boosted Nintendo Switch sales. In the first half of FY24, Nintendo sold 6.84 million units of the Nintendo Switch, a 2.4% YoY increase. Notably, 4.69 million of these units were the OLED model. With these figures, Nintendo's Nintendo Switch has firmly established itself as the third best-selling console of all time, boasting a lifetime sales total of 132.46 million units. Digital sales played a vital role, growing by 15.8% year-over-year, now accounting for 50.2% of total software sales. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, in particular, stood out as a global hit, reaching 19.5 million copies sold, making it the 9th best-selling game for Nintendo Switch. In addition to Tears of the Kingdom, other best-selling titles in the first half of FY24 included Mario Kart Deluxe (3.22 million), Pikmin 4 (2.61 million), and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (1.35 million). With these remarkable financial figures and game sales, Nintendo's continued success demonstrates their enduring influence in the gaming world. 🎮
