How to Implement Positive Change In Your Business Idea Fest was a team building project we ran for many years, where each presenter had the floor for 5-10 minutes, Shark Tank-style, to present a problem they saw in business operations, followed by a solution and a short Q&A session with the rest of team. The management team would meet later to discuss the best ideas, decide the winners, and organize implementation of the winning ideas. Idea Fest focused on not just identifying problems or areas for improvement, but actually proposing solutions. Presentations were expected to include a plan for execution and the anticipated results. This helped to promote a team spirit of continual improvement and forward thinking, and Idea Fest was the perfect showcase for that creativity - give it a try in your company, and enjoy the results! #businesstips #growth #development #improvement #success

I recently pitched an idea to my directors on how we can implement a sustainable strategy. Here are some key things I thought about when crafting the pitch: 1. Who was I talking to? It’s important to always prioritize. The stakeholders point of view initially when making your pitch. What would be the easiest for them? For me that looked like finding current systems we used to help implement something new. 2. Who would be doing the work? Implementing something new is fun until it falls on one or two people. I wanted to make sure I had a team of people willing and excited to help me with this initiative if approved. 3. What does success look like? Success can look different for everyone, so it was important for me to get a good understanding of the stakeholder as well as my teams point of view. I’m very excited to have gotten my idea endorsed and cannot wait to give update with more information soon! #professionaldevelopment #pitching

My honest opinion: ❌ Don't try to teach innovation to everyone within your organization. It is a waste of time and energy. 😰 Driving successful innovation involves a very specific skillset and mindset that needs a lot of training while running your core business requires the opposite skill- and mindset. It's extremely hard to find both in the same team member. Let one team focus on running the business. 🏢 Let the other team build businesses that can be your new core in 5 to 7 years. 🔮 - Don't create unicorns, Let's breed blue whales. 🐋 #innovationmanagement #innovationstrategy #businessinnovation #corporateinnovation #businessbuilding #venturebuilding #business

I've learned that turning big ideas into reality isn't just about creativity – it's about strategic navigation through corporate dynamics. Here are some key steps I've found essential to ensure that innovative concepts don't get lost in the shuffle: 🎯 Understand Your Audience: To bridge the gap between big ideas and senior leadership, it's crucial to comprehend their perspectives, priorities, and communication preferences. 🎨 Clear Communication: Articulate big ideas with clarity and passion. Employ visual aids, prototypes, and compelling narratives to bring concepts to life for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 💡 Framing Value: Showcase how these ideas align with organizational goals – whether it's driving revenue, enhancing customer satisfaction, or improving operational efficiency. 🛡️ Mitigate Risks: Address potential challenges upfront and provide well-thought-out solutions. Demonstrating risk-awareness shows credibility and foresight. 🤝 Building Allies: Rally support within the organization by identifying like-minded individuals who share enthusiasm for your ideas. Collaborative efforts can amplify your message. 📊 Data-Driven Approach: Support your ideas with data and insights. Numbers and trends can lend credibility and enhance the persuasiveness of your proposals. 🚀 Persistence Pays: Be ready for resistance and setbacks. With tenacity and a positive mindset, even complex ideas can gain traction over time. 🌱 Cultivating Relationships: Foster connections with decision-makers beyond your immediate team. Engage in discussions and activities that demonstrate your commitment to innovation. 🔗 Market Alignment: Highlight how your ideas align with market trends and consumer needs. This connection can underscore the potential competitive edge. 💬 Educate About Design Thinking: Introduce the concept of design thinking to senior leadership, showcasing how an empathetic approach leads to user-centric solutions. Through strategic communication, relationship-building, and a persistent spirit, big ideas can break through the barriers and transform into impactful realities. #Innovation #Leadership #DesignThinking #CorporateStrategy

With people or projects or capital investments or even on innovation- identify what you NEED first vs. what you WANT - then brainstorm….so Many are disconnected on needs, wants vs. actually what they can handle as a company or culture and it kills the big idea. Alignment and buy in are key.

Founded multiple companies, exited some, and focused on fixing complex problems for founder-led companies
Many of the founders we work with have one of two problems: 1. They wake up every morning wondering what to do and feel stuck and doing the same thing over and over with the same or unpredictable results. OR 2. The wake up and try to do everything. Execution suffers and strategy changes daily. A Strategic Planning process and roadmap provides both focus and clarity so your entire organization knows what to do, and especially what not to do.
We’ve been working all week with a great client coming up with a new approach and strategy to expand market share in a rapidly expanding industry. At some point in the journey, Founders get stuck in the process and often loose sight of the vision. The process becomes the goal instead of the act of navigating toward the goal. The day to day grind and endless stream of unforeseen challenges understandably drive this mentality. The best part of strategy process for us is watching the passion come back, the creativity turn on, then driving forward together with combined resources. #strategyconsulting #foundersjourney #growthstrategy

In the world of ideas and innovation 🚀, 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 reigns supreme. If you can't break down a concept into 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 without relying on jargons, it's a clear sign there's more to grasp. 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 isn't just about communication—it's about truly understanding your subject. Embrace clarity 🌟, and watch your understanding and impact soar! 💡 A. Best reviews happen with a one-pager dashboard B. Good pitch-decks will have a one-page summary C. What's been your "safe space" for testing new ideas? 🚀💡 The art of mastering your pitch is not just about getting it right the first time. It's about knowing where and with whom to take those initial, inevitable stumbles. For strategic resilience : 1️⃣ Create and refine your pitch or product away from the spotlight. 2️⃣ Select an audience that offers constructive feedback without jeopardizing your big break. 3️⃣ Perfect your presentation, then bring it to your A-list audience with confidence. This approach not only shields your confidence but turns potential failures into stepping stones towards success. 🌟 #Innovation #StartupStrategy #BusinessGrowth
