One of the fastest-growing Twitch streamers in the world, Caseoh, had his own horror game made in Fortnite's UEFN. With the help of Unreal Labs, a small dedicated team who helps creators bring their vision into the game. The project has seen some huge attention, and is a comedic play on Caseoh’s streaming character now turned into a hungry horror monster that players must avoid. What I love about these creator projects is all the inside jokes their viewers get to uncover while playing. The team went deep into researching Caseoh’s persona, streams, and content in order to intertwine it directly on the map. With voice lines throwing out Caseoh’s most common jokes, a feature from Jynxzi (another one of the biggest streamers currently in the world), and plenty of weight and scale jokes throughout, all approved by Caseoh’s team of course. I'm finishing up Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) and was planning to play Spider-Man: Miles Morales next but I think I'm going to be finally playing Fallout 4 (Bethesda Game Studios) instead and hop on that #fallout hype train. The show was great, I slayed at Fallout 3 and NV, plus its always fun to participate in the zeitgeist. That is if I can stop playing Rumble Club (Lightfox Games, first release from Mad Mushroom) which has the perk of being mobile AND PC and a great excuse to spend more time on Twitch. Making games is an art form. And in art, you take risks, you try things. Nobody wants to make a bad game. Nobody. And I'm sure it's heartbreaking when one doesn't work out. Sometimes, things hit the mark, and sometimes, they don't. That's just life. The trick is to make sure the times things *do* hit the mark are more common. Obviously. Anyway, the point of my post is that I get to say some things that game studios can't about things like this ... because I don't make the games. And what I see is, whether it's amongst games not getting funding, struggling to find a publisher, getting funding pulled, struggling with the pressure, or conversely nailing everything and making huge successes of their games – I see and hear about the heart and love that goes into these beautiful, unique creations. Irrespective of how 'good' or 'bad' they are or how Metacritic, Youtubers, or Twitch streamers say they are. Games studios, I salute you.
