Gong is freaking $. I barely use Hubspot anymore for deal management, forecasting, pipeline reviews. Their new AI features enable immediate and targeted access to this incredible wealth of information buried in call recordings. Also super powerful for identifying customer advocates and upsell opportunities, and spotting trends in customer success and product experience gaps. I know everyone in that space is fighting to build these big suites w/everything from CRM to call recording to sales engagement/sequences, but I think Gong has the biggest entry-point advantage starting in call recording, and my money is on them to win the race vs the rest. Salesforce is in a different boat - obviously SFDC will be fine regardless as the backend CRM/datalake, but they may lose ground on the front-end applications to Gong, although Slack is a game-changing asset and unfair advantage - so should be interesting.
Wait until you see some of the stealth cos building AI-first (and opinionated) experiences that interoperate with core sales / CS workflows.
I love HubSpot. Unfortunately GONG does not do the marketing part, is not a CRM and is still VERY expensive.
Thank you for the support and insights, Evan!
Evan, love your insights on Gong's capabilities! As a leader of Belov Digital, I'm always interested in tools that offer strategic advantages. Have you found any significant downsides so far with Gong?
My perspective on all-in-one revenue operating systems is shifting. Rather than do everything, and not do it well, it may be okay to specialize as long as the integration points are solid! Gong clearly can dominate the insights layer!
Momentum.io coming for you Gong!
Call transcripts and email threads are the key sources of truth for understanding customer needs and pain points. I envision a future where every customer interaction is analyzed and insights are extracted for use across all departments, not just sales. This would enable better feature prioritization for product teams and more accurate analysis of customer lifecycle records. Relying solely on an AE's notes can lead to poorly informed decisions, especially if they're having a bad day. That's not truly data-driven; it's misleading ourselves.
Hardly touch Salesforce. Gong all day long ✌️ Brian LaManna can we also see weighted pipe for ICs and teams 👀 since that I still check in SFDC forecast tab.

1moIve predicted for 4 years now that Gong, Clari, and Outreach make a play eventually for the CRM space. Just like Hubspot did. They started as marketing tool only..then started to slowly build a crm and then they just started ripping out SFDC in the SMB and MM and now they are ripping out in the small ENT. When you have the integration and the data...then its just a matter of time before GONG customers feel like they are paying twice for same features. Mark my words...these companies will be next contenders in CRM space.
