England’s dramatic extra-time win against Slovakia in the last 16 round of Euro 2024 saw a peak audience of 18.4m tune into ITV's coverage across ITV1 and ITVX.   The figure was the highest TV audience on any channel in the UK in the last 18 months and ITV’s biggest since the Qatar 2022 World Cup, with the average for the game itself scoring 15.4m viewers and 66% of the available TV audience at the time. Interestingly, with 23.6m fans tuning into public-service broadcaster ZDF, Germany's 2-0 win over Denmark brought in less viewers than the tournament host's last group game against Switzerland and the opening game against Hungary.
