Daniel Kraft, MD’s Post

I call this “Generative Health”... Sam Altman and Arianna Huffington are funding the build of a customized, hyper-personalized #AI health coach via Thrive Global. https://lnkd.in/gsyqZ4B4 “Behavior change can be a miracle drug, both for preventing disease & for optimizing the treatment of disease….” yet, behavior change is hard. Its not a secret that our behaviors (especially our less healthy ones including physical inactivity, poor diet, stress, insufficient sleep, lack of health screening, etc) drive the top chronic conditions like metabolic and coronary disease, accounting for ~80% of total costs for chronic illnesses worldwide. Today’s digital health interfaces and wearables that seek to influence behavior often offer repetitive, one-size-fits-all nudges lacking situational awareness. Imagine if your Apple Watch’s ‘Time to Stand’ nudge synced with your calendar and recognized you were on a cross-country flight, adjusting recommendations accordingly and factoring in jet lag modifications. Or what if your personalized UI recognized that your favorite color was blue and that you responded to badges or social elements more than 'points'. Despite some dystopian possibilities, the opportunity for 'Generative Health' to adopt to each individual's age, language, culture, personality type, goals and incentives, to integrating ones digital exhaust & 'digitome' and other Omics (sociome, exposome and beyond).... could significantly improve engagement and health. Envision and expect the rapid development (from Thrive Global and many others, with platforms like ŌURA to WHOOP already integrating early examples) of learning, proactive AI enabled health coaches powered by #GenerativeAI (increasingly leveraging adaptive, personalized music, visuals, to virtual environments) that will assist with #healthspan optimization and prevention, and early diagnosis based on multi-modal data, for acute and chronic disease management-- fully adapting to and engaging with the human (and even their healthcare providers) for substantial improvements in health, happiness, outcomes and lower costs. #AI #HealthTech #GenAI #ChatGPT #DigitalHealth #wearables #longevity #PersonalizedHealth #BehaviorChange #HealthcareInnovation #mentalhealth #transformativetechnology #healthcoach #generativehealth

Daniel, this is exactly what we have been building at mor.health and all.health. A generalized one at all.health, and a Longevity focused version at mor.health. Someday we should chat on this.

The concept of "Generative Health" presents a transformative approach to personalized healthcare. Integrating AI to tailor health interventions based on an individual's unique behaviours and preferences could revolutionize chronic disease management and overall well-being. How do you see privacy concerns being addressed as AI health coaches become more deeply integrated into our personal lives and health data?

More and more companies recognise the need to empower individuals themselves with data and personalised coaching or recommendations. This will become the norm over the years as more digital health tools are being developed and becoming available. Happy to state that FaceHeart plays an important role in providing all biomarkers via a simple 'selfie' via SDK/API.

The potential for personalised, adaptive AI health coaches to improve engagement and health outcomes is immense. I look forward to seeing the rapid development of these platforms and their integration with wearables and other digital tools.

The key with these type of models is moving from extrinsic motivation to intrinsic and I think AI could help with this…….because intrinsic motivation is for the long haul ….true prevention

Very exciting. Sounds a little like the role I played in the project we had when we first met, so many years ago now :)

This definitely has great potential. But not all potential, as of now, is positive. “Generative Divide” is already showing its ugly face in all aspects of use of LLMs.

excited to see if they come up with something different than whats already done...chatGPT is trained on google SEO and Marketing more so than anything else, which just gives us a fancy version of webMD. Thrive Global is very similar already...will be interesting to follow along

Great post Daniel Kraft, MD! Many of existing medical device and health solutions should converge and lend experience to this. I would combine Infermedica's symptom checking engine (which is a certified medical device) and Humanity Inc biological age API. Then I would combine diagnostics like #Checkcells for sperm, saliva and blood (about to launch) and Shen.AI diagnostics from face recognition, you have a very deep preventative solution.
