I applied for a Practice Manager position with the VA. After a couple months of my application sitting there in the “review” status, I found the recruiter for the region. She loved my application, my desire to help the Veterans, family military background, BUT…because I wasn’t a veteran or active duty I did not qualify. I was perfect for the job but denied. Furthermore, after speaking to some veterans, I find out that the VA clinics are losing millions of dollars annually due to basic inefficient practices and incorrect billing. This also places the expenses on the Veterans who should be receiving care without financial worry!! So, I exclaimed to this recruiter that I had very strong coding skills and experience with multiple EMR systems and even trained others on them, including physicians. I could help the VA get money and help the veterans keep theirs!! Still, I was denied for just being a citizen. With a 40% drop in recruitment, and those who do enlist doing it for money and such, what veterans are they hiring for these positions?! So, when I hear veterans having awful experiences with the VA and seeing the clinics decay into awful facilities, I have to ask why? Why make it so difficult to be efficient and effective?

I work for the government is that a plus?

If I currently work at the Department of Veterans Affairs, I just need a transfer to Philadelphia, PA, or a CBOC in Woodbury NJ. I have 58 applications and have been trying for almost a year. Can some one please help me get back to my family?

It's so hard to get into the VA, I have over 20 years experience in Revenue Cycle Management and I've worked for Johns Hopkins Health Systems for the last 10+ years. I'm also a spouse to a disabled Veteran and still no luck!! Any tips??

Currently deployed, should be back in the states May of 2025, looking for a career within the VA. Can you help me?
