As thousands of developers (and counting) use Unblocked, we've had the chance to see more and more scenarios where teams are seeing an impact from having context about their codebase readily accessible. We decided to share these scenarios on the Unblocked website and a few launched today - including one focused on "Conquering Legacy Code." Simply put, being hamstrung by larger, older codebases is a frustration most software engineers feel on a regular basis. No one wants to derail their peers when they open a misguided Pull Request...or even worse, when they break something in production. But it's incredibly hard fully internalize how an old, complex codebase works... Unless you're using a tool like Unblocked. Because Unblocked introspects over your code and your internal knowledge that lives across tools like Slack, Confluence, JIRA, and more, it can explain how legacy code works and why things were written the way they were. Every week, I hear from teams who use Unblocked to understand their code and, most importantly, its history, so they can figure out the impact of changes before they make them. If you haven't yet tried Unblocked, we'd love to show you how it works. More details here: https://lnkd.in/g9M3J9_w

I've been a fan of Allen's writing for years... and his most recent post does a great some of deglamorizing the hype of "being the CEO". Worth the 4 minute read https://lnkd.in/g8JGdUcr

In our earliest discussions, I was super impressed by Kelly and was hopeful that we would get a chance to work closely with her as we build Unblocked. Today, I'm very pleased to announce that she's joining Unblocked as our COO. She's already made an impact as we've launched our new landing page and tag line - "For all the hows, whys, and WTFs" (www.getunblocked.com)
Some news! Today, I’m joining Unblocked as COO, and in doing so, I'm becoming part of “a group of ambitious malcontents who are dissatisfied with the status-quo.” I honestly could not feel more at home. Unblocked augments source code with relevant knowledge across a company’s internal systems (think GitHub, Slack, Confluence, Jira, Notion and more), giving developers a highly customized LLM that can explain the nuances and specifics of their codebase — how it works, why it was written, and why it works the way it does. The impact here is profound; with Unblocked developers can answer their own questions without interrupting their peers or having to wait for meetings – and they can find the information they need from wherever they're working (including their IDE). Here’s how I got here: In 2016 I helped write the story about a place where work happens, built largely upon the idea that the piece missing from our working lives was a single interface where you could find all the people, projects, and tools needed to get things done. However, many years past the origination of that story, there’s no doubt that we are still all overwhelmed with the volume of information and tools we have on hand, and we waste large portions of our day searching for the answers we need to complete the work that’s being asked of us. Yet, work spans tools and teams by necessity. In particular, a company’s codebase is heavily influenced by thousands of internal decisions and discussions, not to mention a continuous stream of customer feedback. The context that explains what was built and why will always be spread across multiple products used by engineering, product, design, support, and more. A single interface can’t fully solve this problem - we need a smarter workflow for finding answers and that's what Unblocked provides. I’ve gotten to know the team over the past year, and I believe they are onto something substantial. Looking at growth numbers and customer feedback since the product launched last October, it’s clear that Unblocked’s users also feel the same way. For my bit, I’m incredibly excited to get the chance to build again, especially for a developer tool. If you haven’t tried it yet, I’d love to show what Unblocked can do. And if you’re interested in helping build Unblocked, send me a note - I’d love to talk! More at www.getunblocked.com!

I've been a fan of Jon's writing for years. I'm flattered by the time he's spent using Unblocked for his use cases - this time, how he used Unblocked to improve the documentation for Turbot's Steampipe project. "...I’ll never again want to undertake this kind of project without a tool that can help me assemble the necessary context."

Time is the most valuable asset we have.. I'm humbled to have the opportunity to create something that gives people back time they can spend with their family, friends or doing whatever they love.
"The highest compliment I've ever received in my career was from a gentleman that was based in Eastern Europe. He wrote in and said that the time that Buddybuild saved him is now time that he can spend with his family and he really appreciated that. That was also when I started to think we had early signs of product-market fit." We've now had the good fortune to work with Dennis Pilarinos across two companies, both at the earliest stages. I've always been impressed with how he approaches 0-1 building for developers and we recently got the chance to dig into this very topic with Dennis. Check out the entire conversation via a link in the comments.

This was one of the best pieces of pricing advice I've ever received. Thanks Stewart.
Founder Dennis Pilarinos had been losing sleep over how to price Buddybuild... until his advisor Stewart Butterfield gave him a simple directive: "Just double it." Here's what happened next ⬇️

Dennis Pilarinos first dove into the world of DevTools as the founder/CEO of BuddyBuild (acquired by Apple). Now, he's back in the founder seat building Unblocked. In today’s episode of In Depth, we discuss: -Lessons on culture and product from his time at Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft -What changes when you're building for a developer audience -Why AI is complicating product-market fit -How Dennis prioritizes mental health as a founder -The common mistake people make when hiring Along the way, he unpacks which pages of his playbook he's returning to and what he's doing differently this time around.

Chatting with Jack Bridger was a good opportunity to remember what went well and what I’ll try not to repeat at Unblocked. Would love your thoughts if you get a chance to listen.
If you've already sold one DevTool to Apple, what lessons would you take to your next startup? This week we've got Dennis Pilarinos the founder of buddybuild and now Unblocked He shares: - The story of Buddybuild and the Apple acquisition - Why did Apple buy Buddybuild? - The lessons he's bringing to Unblocked Dennis is great and super candid. https://lnkd.in/eMTVYWjG
