Celegrating 6 Months at Enate Group!
I am delighted to announce my six-month anniversary working at the Enate Group. Precisely, at both wineries Bodega ENATE and Bodega LAUS.
In the light of my job, I am gaining experience and knowledge related to client care and public speaking among others. Being part of the Enoturism segment within the marketing department, I firstly had a limited understanding of wine and no particular interest in it. This indeed, represented a big challenge for me, which I reckon that I have successfully overcome. Conducting guided tours and wine tastings in both Spanish and English is part of my responsibilities, which required a great deal of self-confidence and the ability to explain technical aspects of wine to visitors from around the world. However, I didn’t feel daunted. Not even when I had to answer tricky questions from some expert visitors. For instance, I was asked once regarding price differences within a wine region. While grape varieties and climate are similar, the production process plays a key role. Aging wines in barrels is generally more expensive than tank aging. Additionally, wineries build their brand reputation, which can also influence price. High-end wineries crafting complex wines often charge more than others in the same region.
Undeterred, I embraced the challenge and relied on my colleagues' lessons. Over time, I refined my speech and incorporated technical vocabulary to describe wine aromas, tastes, and sensations. Not to mention, that I discovered that I could effectively convey complex information in an accessible and engaging manner easing visitors’ approach to the topic of wine. Indeed, visitors highly appreciate and enjoy it. I personally realized that few people explore wine’s world in depth due to the intimidating and confusing concepts surrounding it.
On another note, this job is allowing me to develop other skills, such as problem-solving, working under pressure and my change adaptive capacity.
Acknowledging these thoroughly enriching 6 months at Enate winery, I am eager to keep growing within this entrepreneurial group.
