It was time for the annual LinkedIn-connections-cleanup. Did remove a few totally unknown names (I probably clicked on Accept by mistake), a few deceased people (sigh...), a few people I don't want to hear from any more (the daily reminder that not all people are kind and/or deserve such a connection) and many recruiters who pinged me and I never heard from. At the end of my browsing, at the bottom of the list, what a surprise... My oldest connections are Tantek Çelik, Eric Meyer, Håkon Wium Lie and Kathy Brade !!! Woooaaaaaah, what a surprise :-) All established not long after LinkedIn's inception but corresponding IRL connections are much older, of course. I most certainly had a few older ones but I cleaned them up eons ago and don't remember them. And you, who are your four oldest LinkedIn connections?

Que faire quand un fournisseur essentiel te dit "demerden sie sich"... :-)
“May day , la tour de contrôle est en feu” Cela fait maintenant cinq ans que je suis titulaire du brevet de pilote. Chaque vol est une occasion de partager ma passion avec des amis et de leur montrer la beauté du monde vu du ciel. Ce weekend-là, nous avons décidé de mettre le cap vers la Bretagne. Nous approchons de notre destination, communiquant avec la tour de contrôle de Rennes pour intégrer leur espace aérien. "Rennes de F-QN, bonjour. Nous sommes trois à bord d'un DR-400 en provenance d’Orléans, 2000 pieds, QNH 1023, demande d'intégration, s'il vous plaît." La réponse de la tour fût pour le moins surprenante : "Euh... bonjour F-QN. Nous sommes actuellement en situation d'urgence avec une alarme incendie dans la tour. Je ne peux pas vous guider, considérez cet espace comme non contrôlé." Un moment de silence s'installa dans le cockpit. "Ok… bon courage," répondis-je, mi-perplexe, mi-inquiet. Au début, j'ai cru à une plaisanterie. Mais rapidement, d'autres pilotes ont commencé à échanger avec la tour, recevant la même consigne. La formation de pilote, axée sur le principe de "prévoir le pire, espérer le meilleur", n'était donc pas qu'une simple formule ! Au final tout s’est bien passé, en appliquant les procédures que je n’avais encore jamais eu besoin d’utiliser.
