OPINION: This is excellent news for the UK #professionalservices sector with EY committing 1k new jobs to Northern Ireland, but English regions continue to compete on an uneven playing field in terms of the ability to offer financial incentives for businesses to commit #inwardinvestment across all sectors. I don’t debate the need to rebalance & reach those economically inactive in NI, but all parts of the UK face this challenge to deliver #inclusivegrowth. Devolution in regions like the #WestMidlands & #GreaterManchester has helped to some degree, but delivering dedicated Investment Summits by the Department for Business and Trade should be held in every region - NE, East of England, etc. We have some inherent USPs in our region, but we also have some of the most deprived areas in the country on the doorstep of cities like #Birmingham where Regional Summits sponsored by HMG would continue to highlight benefits to global investors with corresponding or specialised financial incentives available. Ardian was delighted to take part to a roundtable on “European competitiveness” organized by Invest Europe, alongside Ben Smulders, Deputy Director-General, DG Competition. Gonzague Boutry, Managing Director in the Infrastructure team, has stressed the core role of private investors in creating European champions and financing the green and digital transition. “Europe competitiveness is highly correlated with the efficiency, the reliability, and the sustainability of our infrastructure. On the other side infrastructure faces 3 key challenges: deglobalization, decarbonization and digitalization. European public and private actors should work hand in hands to transform this incredible challenge into a massive opportunity to strengthen the competitiveness of Europe.” #Infrastructure #DigitalTransition #AugmentedInfrastructure #Europe

Following a successful Australia roadshow with Lidia Tomova and Adam Willis, #DWSInfrastructure’s Scott Auty visiting from the London office, commented on how much he enjoyed speaking at The Inside Network ‘Waking up to Portfolio Differentiators’ breakfast held in Melbourne. Scott's discussion on DWS’ approach to providing growth capital to small to mid-cap infrastructure companies resonated very well with the sophisticated Australian wealth investor base both in light of its attractive entry points and as a compliment to more traditional core infrastructure. Scott’s visit to Australia took place in Sydney and Melbourne focused on the unique characteristics of DWS’ sustainable growth, European-focused infrastructure strategy. Lidia Tomova, Adam Willis.
