Just finished GitHub Copilot First Look! This is an interesting course offered by a software developer. The course shows how Copilot within Git helps create an application which tracks expenses, there is an example of creating an API and some examples of creating test plans. It is a simple course which shows clear examples of how Copilot helps developers work in a more productive manner. https://lnkd.in/ex58gbrE #github #githubcopilot

Having taken the next step in the AI-accelerated SDLC with the GA of GitHub Copilot Enterprise last week, I'm delighted to share that Copilot Chat for JetBrains IDEs is generally available now. It was in private beta with lots of users for some time - already with great feedback and now every Copilot user out there can leverage Chat in JetBrains to not only become faster with less cognitive load but a _better developer_ along the way by having meaningful conversations about their code and being able to learn with a super low barrier of entry. Just ask Copilot right in your IDE about that new framework or data type that you're working with right now and iterate on your ideas instead of context switching to your browser, searching for docs and skimming through chapters and forum posts from years ago when your backlog is already full. Also keep an eye open for the GA of Copilot CLI in the coming weeks! 😊 https://lnkd.in/eRyBhdQx

GitHub #Copilot has been speeding up our developers' work by over 30% 📈 Let's take a closer look at the facts. Our experience clearly shows that Copilot helps programmers work faster, increasing speed by 📊 34% when writing new code and by 38% when writing unit tests. That’s why as much as 96% of our developers say Copilot speeds up their daily work. It’s more than a useful tool, and more like a programmer’s sidekick. But that's not all. When one of our teams had to migrate an application from Angular to React, GitHub Copilot helped them optimise and speed up the whole process. They proved that Copilot AI helped them switch between technologies even 40% faster 📊 Read the full article on our blog and find out how our use of Copilot can benefit your business. https://lnkd.in/diYj2wRu

Developers who use Github Copilot are 55% more productive than those who don't. How does GitHub copilot even make their suggestions? Myth: Reads the entire codebase Reality: Reads some snippets from your current and neighboring tabs. Opportunity: Read context from neighboring files and commit messages. What makes it fast? It uses vector databases and making queries off that is speedy fast. What makes it accurate? 1. Prompt engineering. There's a library of prompts and choosing the best one gives better suggestions. 2. Low suggestion bar. Seeing tons of suggestions and recording the accepted suggestions is tons of good data for copilot. Reasons I like copilot: - Smarter copy and paste. I can copy and paste with context aware suggestions - Great repeated code suggestions. Boiler plate can be run without executing an auto-code generation script - It's getting smarter. It went from getting code before your cursor, to after your cursor, to neighboring tabs. GitHub copilot and auto-code generation are tools to make us more efficient developers. Be open to being more productive. #alexcancode #softwareengineer #coding

#technotrendz #blockchaintechnology #azuredevops #aiadoption #ai4good GitHub Copilot is an AI-powered code completion tool developed by GitHub in collaboration with OpenAI. It assists developers by providing code suggestions, auto-completions, and documentation while they write code. The most upvoted feature in RStudio’s history? 🥁 There’s one feature that had more upvotes than ever: GitHub Copilot integration with RStudio 🚀🤖. So what else could be done then to just make it happen? 🎉 While the integration is already in the dev version of RStudio since January or so, it will be available in preview mode in the next official release of RStudio (Desert Sunflower)- as announced in the GitHub issue (🔗 URL in comments) and posit::conf(2023) 📢. And for those who don’t know: GitHub Copilot is an AI pair programmer that offers autocomplete-style suggestions as you code. It’s super simple: you start to write code you want to use, or you write a comment describing what you want your code to do, and GitHub Copilot will give you suggestions. Especially for standard and fairly simple tasks this is a game changer: you’ve never written code so fast 🏎️💨. Note that using GitHub Copilot isn’t free. For individuals it’s 10USD per month, but I think it’s well worth it. There’s a 30-day trial as well, but if you (like me 🙋🏻♀️) participated in the year-long Technical Preview of GitHub Copilot you’re not eligible for the 30-Day free trial (makes sense). The integration of GitHub Copilot and VSCode has been there for a while now, and it’s a big success for a reason. So time to get it in your fave R code editor too 👀. #rstats #rstudio #positconf2023
