Galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAMs) are instrumental in shaping and preserving the cultural identity of societies and fostering a deeper understanding of history, science, and the environment. Moreover, they contribute to the social infrastructure of local communities and visitors, expressing and supporting the active role of culture in society. We are looking forward to collaborating with GLAMMONS in efforts to apply commons theory and advancce practice supporting the resilience and transformative potential of GLAMs in times of change. GLAMMONS objectives are to A. Develop new conceptualizations through the ways that the commons theory and practice can provide a new transformative power for the GLAMS and the local communities, and B. Produce evidence-based policy recommendations for more participatory and inclusive management and more efficient and resilient financing of the GLAMs through arrangements of the commons. https://glammons.eu #transformation #resilience #commons #galleries #libraries #archives #museums #glams #worldheritage

Green Dreams—Art for Earth Exhibition @ New York has been successfully hosted at New Colors Academy in Long Island, NY. 🥰🤩🥳 Spring Zheng as a volunteer organizer and sponsor for this exhibition, emphasized that as parents we encourage our kids and more youths to contribute their services and values to society as responsible citizens. Instead of attending more academic and extracurricular contests for awards, social services and community projects like this are more meaningful for kids' growth in their arts, creativity, leadership, and values. Ambrose, a 12th grader from Brooklyn Tech High School, presented biking healthy lifestyle and safety presentation and his photography of NYC through biking. Athenia L, a 10th grader from LaGuardia Arts High School, led the art craft workshop on site, wrote an article for the event (included in the description of the video), and marked at the end of this highlight video: "Change takes time, but every little act grows into something bigger. So let's start small and work our way up." https://lnkd.in/erKUUXRP This global project is ongoing. Our earth is in our own hands. We are blessed creators and protectors of it! ******* #ArtforEarth, #Exhibition, #EnvironmentProtection, #Arts, #GreenDreams, #NewYork, #CityEnvironment, #Lifemeaning, #Wellbeing, #Health, #Youth, #SocialProject, #SpringZheng, #Coaching, #Mentoring, #NonProfit, #Volunteer, #Sponsor, #GlobalYouthPhilanthropy, #Worktogether, #Blessing, #Leadership, #Citizenship, #Entrepreneurship, #Community, #Empowerment, #Transformation, #Abundance

"Resistance doesn't just help one individual - it's a group action with a group effect." - @tlantic Xplorer. The Atlantic Explorers, an innovative youth collective, delved into the profound concept of 'People, Power, and Resistance' through a thought-provoking zine-making project. Inspired by the Black Atlantic exhibition at The Fitzwilliam Museum, this group contemplated the personal meaning of 'People, Power, and Resistance' and their significance for individuals and communities. Through a series of introspective questions, each student chose a word and reflected on its essence, importance to them, and its broader relevance. They then swapped zines, challenging one another to understand and communicate their peers' perspectives. The Atlantic Explorers perceive ‘Resistance’ as unapologetically being your authentic self, staying grounded in the present moment, and collectively challenging systems of oppression through unified action that creates positive change for all. This collaborative project, part of the FUTURE/POWER partnership between The Fitzwilliam Museum, Museum X, and Soham Village College, empowers young people to engage in interdisciplinary co-research spaces. By exploring complex themes through creative expression, they are engaging with, influencing and developing the knowledge our future societies will be built on. 🔗 Find out more about this inspiring collaboration: https://lnkd.in/eDzaYvMq 🎨 Artwork created collaboratively by members of the Atlantic Explorers collective, Soham Village College. #YouthVoices #ResistanceTogether #BlackAtlanticExhibition #MuseumCollaboration #CreativeExpression #EmpoweringYouth #FuturePower #Codesig

The @tlantic Xplorers are sending you a virtual reminder that we are in this together. They perceive 'Resistance' as an unwavering collective force driven by unity and determination, never holding back in adversity. It is the call to join as one cohesive front, recognising our shared struggle, and pushing forward without restraint. Resistance represents the strength found when people unite. This zine is a virtual reminder that meaningful change demands unified action. Anyone involved in the museum world is likely familiar with Nina Simon, the trailblazer behind the concept of the participatory museum. I first encountered her ideas when I watched her TED talk and delved into her book, 'The Participatory Museum,' during my very first semester in my master's program at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her book evoked a myriad of 'Hell yeah' moments, nearly causing me to leap out of my seat with inspiration. As I questioned the conventional and somewhat static nature of museums, her work provided me with a roadmap for what a museum could become, introducing me to the vital concept of participation in the realm of design. I embarked on a journey to explore various forms of participation, learning from Simon's book along with my own experiments and ideas that led to co-creating a participatory project with Shivani Pinapotu at the RISD Museum called '(un)heard voices.' Through '(un)heard voices,' we created spaces to create, share, and connect. As I continue to contemplate these ideas, I wish to offer a glimpse into what set me on this transformative journey that I am currently navigating. If you are interested in participatory projects, I wholeheartedly recommend reading Nina Simon's book. In case you want to know more about '(un)heard voices,' you can check it out on my website: www.priyatabosamia.com #museums #participatorymuseums #interactivemuseum #museumnerd #museumsforall #participatorydesign #experientialdesign
