At Caravel Labs, our CEO, Ashutosh Chatterji, constantly reinforces the value of working alongside our clients as we develop #software. This demystifies our process & our clients go from being inquisitive, to appreciative, to participative. A participative process produces solutions to our clients' challenges, not a list of features cobbled together within a web application. While you & I see the empty tea cup & crumpled paper, this group sees de-prioritized user stories. We see scribbles on pieces of paper, they see infrastructure as code. We see post-it notes organized in a swim lane, they see workflow. In our last post, we'd written about velocity of development, & how we're transparent with our clients on that metric. That transparency is the beginning. Our goal is to generate confidence in our team's ability to launch #software on a predictable schedule. The cone below with the statistical best, worst & ideal case projections does just that. Sprint after sprint, it usually bends upwards towards the total backlog line. Also, because of these projections, the engineering team & the #productowner are able prioritize the backlog so as not to jeopardize launch. The Bengal Global Business Summit 2023 that just concluded was a high-profile event aimed at boosting investment and economic growth in West Bengal, and Caravel Labs was well-represented there with James, Souvik and I attending as delegates. It concluded with substantial investment commitments totaling approximately $45 billion, including significant pledges from some of the biggest Indian conglomerates, in all kinds of sectors from telecom infrastructure to IT services, from education to healthcare, and from manufacturing of railway rolling stock to food processing.
