We at Black Rifle Coffee believe Veteran’s Day is a celebration. As we approach November 11th we want to start recognizing what Veteran’s Day means to us and to those who serve. For BRCC, Veteran’s Day is a celebration of service members past and present who made the decision to serve their community and their nation. It’s an appreciation and recognition of family members who endured deployments as well as the uncertainty and discomfort of military life. It’s remembering those who fought our nation’s toughest battles, often receiving life altering injuries that they bare for the rest of their lives. It’s a celebration of those who find life after the military, in business, in philanthropy or in retirement. Black Rifle Coffee began when a group of Veteran’s joined forces to create something unique. For us, Veteran’s Day isn’t just a celebration of Veterans, it’s a celebration of who we are.

Honouring Our Heroes: 80 Years Since D-Day. Today marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings; and I'd like us to pause and reflect on the courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment of the brave men and women who stormed the beaches of Normandy on that fateful day in 1944. Allied Forces Unite: Troops from the UK, the USA, Canada, and France joined forces to launch the largest seaborne invasion in history. Their collective determination turned the tide of World War II, laying the foundation for an Allied victory. From Portsmouth to Normandy: On June 6, 1944, these heroes faced unimaginable challenges as they waded through the cold waters, dodging bullets and artillery fire. Their sacrifice and resilience paved the way for freedom and peace. Remembering Our Veterans: Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants—those who risked everything for our liberty. Let us remember their valour, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to a better world. Supporting Our Veterans: Supporting veterans isn’t just about remembering the past; it’s about ensuring their well-being today. You can support this by advocating for mental health services, employment opportunities, and a strong support network for those who served. Learning from History: The lessons of D-Day resonate across generations. We must teach our children about the importance of unity, peace, and freedom. Their testimony serves as a timeless reminder that we must never take these precious values for granted. https://lnkd.in/eSuBiMy6 #DDay80 #RememberingHeroes Tim O'Keefe (FIRP) Nick Garland CDW UK Mark Murphy

🌟 Day 16/100: The Spirit of Service - Extending Beyond the Uniform 🌟 Day 16 of our journey brings us to a core value that defines military life and enriches our civilian communities: the Spirit of Service. Service in the military goes beyond the call of duty; it’s a deep-seated commitment to supporting one another, upholding shared values, and contributing to the greater good. This ingrained sense of service doesn’t end with the uniform; it extends into every aspect of a veteran’s life, inspiring involvement in community initiatives, volunteer work, and public service. The transition to civilian life provides a broad platform for veterans to apply this spirit of service, making meaningful impacts in their communities and beyond. Whether it’s through leadership in local organizations, volunteering, or mentoring, the contributions of veterans are invaluable. “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth.” - Muhammad Ali. This quote encapsulates the essence of the spirit of service, emphasizing that giving back is a fundamental aspect of a fulfilling life. #SpiritOfService #VeteranCommunity #GiveBack #VeteransInService #Day16of100 📌 16/100: Today, let’s celebrate the ongoing contributions of veterans in our communities and reflect on how we can each embody the spirit of service in our daily lives. It’s about making a difference, one act of service at a time.

USMC Veteran Turned Financial Advisor | Board of Directors Risen Warrior Foundation | #1 USC Fan According to My License Plate
In 2012, I was in my 12th year of active duty in the Marines. I had saved a little money over those 12 years, had a wedding planned for the following summer, and was halfway through writing my first book. I was actually in the works of taking orders to report back to 3rd Marines in Hawaii (where it all started back in 2000 at my first duty station). It was then I sat down with my Financial Advisor, who just a year prior was my XO at School of Infantry West, Advanced Infantry Training BN, and he asked me "What are your plans for the next one, five, and ten years?" I didn't have one outside of keep reenlisting until I hit 20 I guess. "I don't know, take orders to my next duty station and keep doing what the Marine Corps needs me to do." Little did I know, that 2013 would change everything about my plans and it was then I started the transition process into the reserves and took a job with the Dept of Def. I am thankful for that moment in 2012 when I sat down with my advisor, which I still use to this day, and we went over my plans, personally, professionally, and financially. We started with four simple steps: 1) Understanding my current cash flow and future needs 2) Protected my income, family, and assets 3) Develped a plan towards retirement with savings and investments 4) Looked at any debt, and took action on how to manage It is why I do what I do today. I will create a plan for you now so that you and your family can live later.

David is absolutely correct. Don't go through your military transition alone. Everyone's adventure looks a little different, but it's up to the individual to take ownership of their transition. 2 pieces of advice for transitioning service members, I feel confident to share at this point in my journey are: 1) Start early. Small steps early pave the way for big things later. 2) Ask for help early and often from veterans or one of the many organizations out there dedicated to help veterans find meaningful post military employment. Much like Bilbo learned later in his adventure, having a group to help increases your chances for success. #transitionthursdays
Networking with transitioning Navy professionals in Jax is what #transitionthursdays are all about! Thank you Ryan T. and Ryan Devlin for sharing your wisdom with us today! We’re getting the impression that transition is going to be a long game. Don’t be like Bilbo, do not go on this adventure alone, ask us about Transition Thursdays!
