Are you procrastinating over making a will? Do you know the ins and outs if you don’t have one? Well today we covered both of these areas in our Recobiz face to face networking meeting at Bracknell. What a great bunch of people just looking for connection, building relationships and looking to support each other. The super knowledgeable Grant Notman wowed us with his presentation on wills and how to get started. He not only shared some fantastic tips but also some tools to make it easier for ourselves. There are so many things I didn’t know; it really does pay to listen to those who do. There is a reason why we have professionals; it’s because they are well trained and deliver a quality product. I highly recommend contacting Grant if you are looking for advice around wills or anything in that area; Grant can and will help. Wills and will writing are something we all put off, but they are essential if you want your estate to be handled the way you would like it to be. If you sometimes feel isolated in your business, alone and don’t know where to turn, then why not look at Recobiz? Here you will find support, connection with like-minded people and so much more. If this is you, do yourself a favour and contact Camila - why not do it now? Be kind to yourself! Thank you to Alex, Kate, Grant, Simon, Karen, Camila, Joanna and Rob for making it time well spent. Hope to see you all again soon. If you would like to join us, we have 4 online meetings a month; to view and book simply click the link https://lnkd.in/e2eNXipg #reccobiz #onlinenetworking #networkingevent #businessnetworking #supportsmallbusiness

Consulting/Advisory solutions for ambitious staffing/recruitment businesses & Co-Founder of Costhetix; elevating aesthetics, empowering safety
Back to Basics was (is it still going Andrew Maeer?) a legendary club night held in Leeds since the early 90's that ran for at least 30 years. Even I was too young to go back then, but I did in the late 90's/early 2000's. If I went today I'd be one of if not the eldest in the room. Just like I was yesterday when I, along with 103 other recruiters, attended J9 Online's Blueprint for Business Development training session for the rec industry in Manchester. The brilliant session is ran by Trevor Pinder, a Trainer who's been in the industry even longer than me, but he's very current & uses modern techniques, because he's still an active recruiter. In fact he made the point many times that alot of infamous '90's recruitment' techniques simply don't wash today. And that's why I was there. I've been off the tools for many years now, but have always tried to stay as close to the coalface as possible so I know what our recruiters really face every day. In my now role as advisor/consultant/NED it would be even easier to become a 'recosaur', who only talks about how they did it when TV was black & white; so I try even harder to stay current. It was a great day talking all things BD fit for purpose in 23/24, but even embracing the most modern techniques, one thing shone through which I can back up with social proof across all of my rec clients - those that are winning are absolutely Back to Basics. Those basics must be modern & of quality, but if they are ruthlessly repeated often enough, that's where consistent success lies; and where we add a simple robust process/framework so does scalability. The content & actions may evolve, but mastery over the basics to win never goes out of fashion. Irrespective of if you are 21 or 51 and run a desk/agency/division/team, ask yourself today - what did I/we once do to make a great success that is no longer done and I don't know why? It may give you a little shortcut back to consistent results... Let's get Back to Basics

When you think of entering a #careertransition you expect it to look like this: Start Search -> Apply -> Interview -> Negotiate -> Accept Your New Role! Spoiler alert, it's SO MUCH MESSIER We have to update our #resume and #linkedin, we have to #network and #apply and #interview and take a quick #mentalhealthbreak when we get overwhelmed, we gotta go on #holiday and take a vacation, we have to #startover when we don't land the gig we thought we were so close, we have to decline a role because the #compensation just wasn't there... Let it be messy. And if you want help with the networking part... come to my free workshop on The Secret Sauce to Networking! It's gonna be SO FUN.
