We go to our places of work to receive compensation. We all know that. It is often said that we do not go to work to be liked. But think about how much easier it is if you are liked. I have been to organizations that run well, but people left because of one person. Don't be that person. Be the person who harbors a place of culture that people look forward to, not one that people dread. Your staff is there to assist your organization in the process of progression. You have the opportunity to make that process smooth and beneficial for them AND your retention. Be the change and see what changes.

Project Manager at blockit Now |Healthcare Management | Public Health | Navy Veteran | Veteran Advocate
This was actually a conversation amongst employees at our onsite last week. We love the culture that leadership drives at blockit Now. And we are all passionate about the company's mission in the Healthcare Industry. I will never forget what it felt like, throwing up on Sundays because I dreaded going into work THAT much due to the culture. But it has been 1 year 10 months with blockit Now and I have never once dreaded going to work on Monday...or any other day of the week. #employeeengagement #employeeexperience #healthcarecareers #saasstartup #blockitnow

Replace "Sunday" with whatever day of the week your work week "ends". When I was the weekend meteorologist in local TV news, my work week "ended" on Wednesday (ended in quotes because more than half of the time, I was working on my days off filling in for others). I had multiple weeks where I worked 10 days in a row which included turnaround shifts, doing the 10pm show, getting home at 11:15pm, leaving again at 3:30am to be on air at 6:00am. I seriously debated whether it was even worth sleeping or taking off my makeup. If you realize that you too feel like you have to put ended in quotes, your work is probably spilling over into the time you should be spending focused on other important aspects of your life and your work-life harmony/integration is not in good shape. (I personally can't stand the term "work-life balance"). I offer career strategy services for those who realize that they need something new and want to explore moving into a different industry. Many of my clients work in TV news and could replace "work week" with the word "week" because they're never truly off the clock (but of course they're not paid that way). Check out my website (link in comments) to see how I can help you find your next opportunity AND explain to your future employers how your past experience in an industry they may not really understand makes you the perfect person to add to their team. #JobSeeker #Burnout #Journalists #WorkLifeHarmony #WorkLifeIntegration ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi! Boss: Can you list all the tasks for this project? Employee: Task 1, Task 2, Task 3... etc... Boss: That's what "etc." means. Employee: Sir, it's just my way of saying "End of thinking capacity!" Boss: 🤦♂️ #Humor #WorkLife #OfficeFun #CommunicationSkills #LinkedInLaughs #InnovationAtWork #WorkplaceFun #CreativeThinking

What an amazing message from the legend Kapil Dev. I echo this sentiments and do my best to convey the same to my team as well as my son (who at the age of 14 believes he has lot of pressure to win Quiz bowl competition). Lately my blood pressure has been hovering around 155/110 for last 6 months. My family and well wishers ask me, If I have lot of work pressure?. Initially I used to say no, I don't I have pressure, I enjoy my work and too involved. Given my health condition I started asking myself "Do I really enjoy my work", "Do I really have work pressure" or "is it that I enjoy my work when in pressure". After talking to some of my colleagues in India and post hearing this message, I realize that anything in excess is what creates problem. - Work pressure is good as long as we can keep that for 8-9 hrs a day. - IPL pressure is good, as long as we can keep that pressure only for 8-9 hrs in a day during practice session. - Pressure for study is good as long as we can keep it during our school and be attentive. - During night time we should have pressure to sleep for 7-8 hrs. - During family time we should have pressure to be with family (not thinking about). - For the rest of the time we need to have pressure to enjoy and have fun. If we can ensure we have balanced our pressure for all activities our the period of time this pressure will start feeling like pleasure.

3 things that you cannot fully admit but feel like a win: 1. Getting 6 hours of work done in 60 minutes when you're in the zone, after procrastinating for 6 hours 🙃 2. Forgetting to do something that later turns out to be the wrong action / decision 🤠 3. An annoying team member resigning from the job 🤭 Who says corporate professionals aren't talented? They pretend to be busy and keep up appearances without acting degrees! Comic by Work Chronicles #corporatelife #workplace #humor #life #work
