At this year's Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, the expression "marketers are having to do more with less" was impossible to avoid. It's a cliché - but it's also true. The cost of doing business continues to rise and one of the first things to go is the marketing budget. However, if ever there were an opportunity to get inspired and creative it's at what is essentially Coachella for marketers. It also comes, handily, half way through the year, so is a perfect chance to reassess and reprioritise.
