there are other places to spend your marketing budget other than google and facebook yes, setting up ads on google and facebook are easy... but it is also saturated and your competitors are there = so the competition is fierce, making it harder to succeed on their podcast Marketing Against The Grain, Kipp (CMO at Hubspot) and Kieran (SVP Marketing at Hubspot) unpacked some lesser known tactics and are harder to set up, but might have a great ROI for marketers ⭐️ 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 ⭐️ find creators / influencers who your audience follows: youtube, newsletters, linkedin, instagram, etc the perfect creator for an industry has a highly engaged and targeted audience Kipp from HubSpot mentioned that his team has run creator campaigns, delivering a cost per lead of up to 4x lower than Google or Facebook 🤯 but how can you start working with creators? 1/ 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺 - do some first hand research to find these creators. fine those who authentically like your product, or actually use your product.. an ideal creator might be a customer if yours - ask your customers “who do you follow on social / what newsletters do you subscribe to” - Kieran mentioned a creator marketplace platform that he’s invested in called passionfroot where you can test out and find relevant creators yo HubSpot APAC team, im a customer and i write about B2B marketing.. slide in my DMs ;) 2/ 𝘤𝘰-𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 once you have found the creator you want to work with, dont force them to use the standard ad format... move away from the standard creative and copy that your google ads team uses give them creative freedom to create the content... creators always know what is better and what will work for their audience but one thing Kipp mention — give them something fun to start with: a fun stat, a fun graphic, an exclusive insight to your product... and then let them go wild to create that content 3/ 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧: 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮? dont make it complicated / too “affiliate-y” with a payment structure only if leads come in — that will start the relationship on the wrong foot creators should be a natural extension of your marketing campaing think of this as a brand bet, an experience, a new channel to test to see if this works Kieran suggests to offer creators a flat rate for the posts (or if you have to have performance metrics, test out cost per 1000 impressions) but focus on the maximising the upside, dont think too much into protecting your downside --- have you tested out campaigns with creators? Great takeaways here. I loved HubSpot's collaboration with Natasha V. She shared great tips on social selling, and then sent people to HubSpot to download the full resources. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6BJ-0AwslA I also love how HubSpot has truly embraced its employee advocates. From a customer perspective, Kyle Jepson, HubSpot Evangelist, is amazing! I love his LinkedIn posts, which highlight new features. The bite-sized nature of this content helps me (a busy marketer) keep up with the changes... particularly when there was an avalanche of betas and updates in 2023. 😅 PS - Amiria did you see all these CTAs yet? 🤣

This is great info, axel. It's not something I've considered in the past but it may be worth looking into with the new project we're working on. Thanks for sharing!
