For the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists it is of utmost importance that a clear pathway to address unmet healthcare needs is devised. The unmet need definition proposed by the European Commission in its revision of the general pharmaceutical legislation is in the view of EAHP insufficient to fully address the entire problem in the EU. UK: In Oct 2023, 82% of clinical trials were on track to be delivered on time & target, exceeding the 80% target (source: ABPI). "The erosion of Germany as a location for pharmaceutical innovation has long since begun". We all have to do our part to change that. This includes the recently negotiated standard contract (if it works a great success!) and also the general willingness of patients to take part in clinical studies. Also to ensure a good and secure confirmation of the recruitment figures and to be a reliable partner in global, competitive subject recruitment. Stability and quality must be increased in many clinical research areas. Frequent CRA changes, numerous amendments to the protocols and manuals, a lack of resources for study nurses, a lot of technology and vendors, all of these are challenges that need good /better solutions from all of us working in that field! #cranet #clinicalresearch
