Someone once described the years of early childhood as “the rush hour of life,” where the traffic of family and work come together to leave you feeling over-extended and sometimes over-whelmed. I was reflecting on both the challenges and the joy of that rush hour yesterday, when my parents came to NYC to help us celebrate a big family milestone: my son Theo’s high school graduation. I watched Theo walk the stage and accept his diploma, feeling an intense mix of pride, gratitude and sadness (he’s leaving home soon!). And then we celebrated this huge family milestone with an incredible dinner at the unparalleled Centurion New York – Theo and his sister pictured admiring the amazing view! Enjoy the “rush hour” everyone… and celebrate the milestones along the way. And congratulations to everyone celebrating in the Class of 2024!
Congratulations! And don’t worry -now you’re entering the next phase where you get to sit back every once in a e and a awhile and realize- despite all those times you thought you screwed up as a parent- you did a fabulous job creating a very capable, smart, sweet and successful adult. Time to say - good job mom! 🙌
Congratulations to you all - what a milestone. As always, thank you for sharing these moments, that 'rush hour' can be tricky to navigate at times - lovely to see others sharing their successes.
Congratulations to Theo and to your family! I read your post while feeding my son who is now 3 weeks old - it’s been a busy, sleepless yet wonderful journey thus far. Rush hour is just starting for us!
Congratulations to Theo and it sure takes a village. Enjoy this special milestone. It only gets better from here.
Congratulations on your graduation, Theo! We are currently going above the speed limit in the rush hour of life with our 2- and 3-year-old daughters… crazy to think we will be celebrating their high school graduations before we know it!
Sooooo happy for you Anna!! Next milestone - Socks graduating 😅 (and please share your fountain of youth will ya!)
Congratulations to Theo and well done on getting through the rush hour! You look just the same as you did when the rush hour was in full flow.
Congratulations and thank you for raising the leaders of tomorrow!!!

1moThrilled for you and your family! 🎓🚀 Congratulations – what an incredible milestone. Your reflections on the “rush hour of life” beautifully capture the bittersweet mix of pride, gratitude, and the inevitable changes that come with these big moments. Enjoy every second of this celebration, and best of luck to both you and Theo as your family embarks on his next adventure or should I say “rush hour on a new set of streets perhaps in a new city” !
