#3 Augmented Reality or Mixed Reality? #Augmentedreality means that the real world continues to exist (and is extended using a #smartphone or #AR headset according to the current state of the art). This means that computer-generated #3D assets or interfaces are superimposed and these react to the real world. And another term that causes confusion in this context: #Mixedreality. Confusing, because #AR and #MR mean relatively the same thing. With mixed reality, we also have a headset as a medium (like the #MetaQuest or the #VisionPro), but the focus here is on interaction with computer-generated objects, even using real objects. However, the controllers are also used as an input aid. Let's turn our attention to the next term.

We once prototyped a room-sized instrumentation system. The only thing bigger than the prototype was the truck we used to haul it to the client site.   Virtual reality prototyping solves some of these (fun) challenges.
