Christmas rush...stuck in a queue... no parking space....running out of time!!! Whe can't create more time. We can use our time differently. While waiting for a carpark, queue to move, you have within you a choice. 🎄 Repeatedly reminding yourself how long the queue/traffic is, how much you have yo do. This will send a stress signal that your nervous system will react to, releasing cortisol and feeling of stress in your body. Or 🎄Using this time wisely. If the queue/traffic can not be moved faster, while you are waiting, can you enjoy time to stand still, take some long, slow, deep breaths ... this sends a signal to the nervous system that all is OK. We can move out of the stress response. We have a choice, how your choose to respond in any given situation will determine how you experience that situation . Pause...relax your jaw....breathe in slowing and deeply through your nose ...exhale long and slow through pursed lips (if you're somewhere you can safely close your eyes, add this in too).
