Exciting news! We recently announced that Blue Shield of California has launched our new Member Health Record, starting with some of our Medicare Advantage members. This innovative feature will revolutionize how users access and interact with their health information through our app and website, integrating a member’s entire medical history into a single, electronic view. Initially, the Member Health Record will be available to a select group of Medicare Advantage members, empowering members to make informed decisions and manage their health more easily. By the end of the year, all Blue Shield members will have access to this feature, with further enhancements coming in 2025. Stay tuned as we roll out this transformative tool to all members. As I embark on my new role at Blue Shield of California, I sincerely appreciate the warm welcome I’ve received. Over the past several months, I’ve collaborated closely with Blue Shield’s dedicated team, whose unwavering commitment to community well-being is truly inspiring. I am particularly grateful for the exceptional efforts of the recent SilverSneakers collaboration with our team for our senior members at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.    In honor of Heart Month and as part of the “Seniors Free” month at the Safari Park, seniors enjoyed a day of fun and fitness among the park’s animals, with SilverSneakers instructor-led stretches. It was a wonderful opportunity for our members to explore the beauty of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park while learning how physical activity can improve their health and quality of life.   Heart failure affects more than 6 million adults in the United States, according to the American Heart Association. It’s an important reminder to keep moving and do regular physical activity, especially as we age, to protect us from heart disease and reduce the risk of heart attack. Our Blue Shield Medicare team and representatives from SilverSneakers kept moving alongside seniors and were on hand to connect with attendees, answer questions, and provide resource information.   Thank you to everyone who joined us.
